I wonder if Ubisoft will upload the video compilation sometime? It was too fast and sometimes pixelated in the Twitch stream so it would be lovely to watch it again in its intended glory! I doubt how it appeared in the stream is how it actually was?

To be honest, I think both Rayman 1 and 2 shouldn't simply be touched up. Both games were great in their time, but their age shows in some areas.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they went the same route as Ratchet and Clank did, where they've reimagined the original game, without straying from its core. I wouldn't want them to be UbiArtified, as that style doesn't fit those titles, to me. But I think they need a heartfelt effort if they're being remade, instead of the sterile and half-arsed ports that they get shovelled into every couple of years.

The only thing that's aged about Rayman 2 is the graphics, and even Revolution managed to fix the age of the graphics.

Personally, I think Rayman 2's combat is the weakest in the series. Revolution alleviates this by having Robo-Pirates in multitudes and with more varied weapons, but even so, I think the Hoodlums were far better combatants. I feel that Rayman 3's levels were more creative when they weren't focused on fighting, the Longest Shortcut might have had it in excess, but there was some very creative platforming segments in there.

I felt Rayman 3 had too much combat compared to Rayman 2.

I don't deny that, hence my comment on when it wasn't focused. What I am saying is that the series and genre has evolved since the game's been released, and I'd love to see newer ideas and concepts retrofitted to refresh the game.

I'm getting tired of the ubi art games and hope they return to a mix of Rayman 2 and 3 someday.

Yeah, though I'd like to see more open spaces, a la Jak and Daxter.

A more open styled game similar to beyond good and evil.

Pretty much, where you don't unlock levels, but the means to get to them.

So am I, an open world Rayman would be awesome, like Fallout 3 or FarCry 2/3/4.
The Rayman universe has a huge potential with the landscapes.
Dreams.... Yes.
Delusions ?

A more open Rayman game would be cool, though I agree that some sort of re-imagining like Ratchet and Clank would also work if they upgraded it enough and not just like the last few ports they've made. And while I absolutely love the ubiart games I am getting tired of them now and I want something new as it feels like they've done what they can with that.

I feel like they ruined some of the character personalities. They made Rayman as dumb as Globox, they made Betilla into a fan service character, and why is the magician a teensie!

I agree on that. The Ubiart games are seriously lacking any good story or character development. I think the original ideas for Origins story actually being an origin story sounded pretty cool, though as it is now it just doesn't feel like Rayman. Still, the games are really fun the play and for the type of games they are I actually don't think a story is necessary. Though as it is a Rayman game you'd of course want it anyway.

I'm fine with the magician being a Teensie. I just wish they retained more of his notable traits, such as his scepter, golden locks, and concealed eyes.
