Exactly, that's why I think this whole HD thing is stupid. You have to have to have the correct TV, the correct Satellite or Cable, the HD service, the correct chords.....it's not worth it.
Especially since the difference is so damn small.

What? The quality is several times better.

So? As long as I can see and enjoy the stuff on the screen, I'm OK.

In the living room we have digital TV. The only thing that makes it attractive to me is that you can record shows. This is great. I can spend my day chilling with friends and in the evening i can just watch the shows i like.
In my room i'm going to get analogue soon. And i like it. I can always get myself a DVD recorder when the computer hobbyist in my street gives a yard sale. Then i'll go down town and by myself a set of rewritable DVD's. And, well, that solves my issue.
There is one great thing about digital though : digital TV has digital signals. Here in Belgium many great channels tend to broadcast in Britain. And when the sea is a bit foggy the analogue signal is a bit messed up. This isn't a problem when using digital.
@StaceyW : You don't need a new TV for digital. You'll only need a setup box. And your provider should provide you with one when you switch to digital TV.
As far as HD goes. Well, does anyone pays attention to the most tiny details in movies anyway ?

Ah, he still has some Sony campaigning left in him! ("the PS3 is powerful enough to"; puh-lease...) Those really aren't all that innovative and you aren't even talking HD vs. SD, you're talking about what makes the (Sony) HD-compatible games you like so great, which says nothing about why Rayman automatically needs to support HD.
And my opinion? HD is a minor clarity difference to SD on TV's. The only time I'd care is with my PC monitor, which I've already taken care of (2048x1536; nearly 150% more pixels than 1080p). Still, I'm not putting down several hundred dollars for something I'll be watching the same stuff on with a tiny clarity boost (not including buying all sorts of HD stuff to even be able to make it worthwhile)...
And anymore on the actual game in discussion here?...

Hoooooooly shit and they even called them 'Titans'? What a rip-off!
Take a seat, Spiraldoor.

I don't even have a HDTV. Joshua was saying that all HD games are un-innovative. I was arguing against this.

Crash of the Titans has completely nothing to do with it, other than making use of the word..."Titan". Shadow of the Colossus has the same general idea of being on a giant creature, but the gameplay involved is entirely different. Calling God of War 3 a combination of CotT and SotC isn't really something anyone with any knowledge of the game at all would do.

Again:
I wasn't trying to say that Rayman has to be HD, I was trying to say that not all HD games lack innovation, which is what Joshua suggested. Stop saying that I'm failing to do things I never attempted.

Other way round. Titans originally appeared in Greek mythology. GOW is based on Greek mythology. The shitty non-Naughty Dog developed Crash Bandicoot game used the word "Titan" for some reason. Why does everyone keep going on about this.

What? The quality is several times better.

But how much do you notice? Normal quality is already very sharp, so why make it 5 times sharper?

Because if it's already VERY sharp, then making it five times sharper makes it VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY,
VERY sharp!
If you don't like VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY,
VERY sharp quality, then don't get a HDTV.

That's what I'm doing. When they become almost SDTV-priced (long way to go though) then I'll buy one, though right now the difference in clarity is too insubstantial to me to want to buy one. (Again, along with all sorts of HD stuff to even use it for what it's worth, and a Sega Saturn won't really benefit from HD, hehe.)

I wonder why you are talking about HD graphics, while I was actually talking about good graphics ( which is not necessarily HD ). You don't need an HDTV to see that the Xb360/PS3 graphics are a lot better than the graphics the Wii can handle.
So what Holy Crap said here...
Holy Crap wrote:True, if I bought a PS3 I wouldn't notice a difference since my TV isn't HD.

... is very untrue.
While the Wii can handle better graphics than a PS2, it doesn't come anywhere near what a PS3 or an Xbox 360 can handle.
That's also why I bought an Xbox 360: In a year, Wii games will be perfectly playable on Dolphin, the GC/Wii emulator. Games like Super Paper Mario, Zelda: Twilight Princess and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 already are ( with a few small problems: Super Paper Mario has one crash, Twilight Princess has no sound and a few slowdowns, and RRR2 is perfectly playable ).
So I didn't mean that Rayman 4 would have to be HD ( but it definitely will be if it releases on Xbox 360 and/or PS3 ), but I meant that it should be on better systems than the Wii, and not only for graphics reasons.
Most platformers on the Wii have crappy controls. Sure, developers can make the player turn the controller sideways, but will they do it? And if they do it, wouldn't a normal controller still be better?

Aside from the lack of a decent camera control system, I can't say I agree with this.
And for 2D platformers on the sideways issue: No, and no contest on this issue either. Nintendo has always had the best D-pads which is essential for 2d platforming (very rarely will I use an analog stick in a 2D game)

You... you haven't seen gameplay videos have you?
And no, pre-rendered trailers don't count as gameplay.
EDIT- Hell, I'd even go so far as to say you've never played CotT and know nothing about it aside from that fact it uses the word Titans. See I can make stupid non-factual conclusions based on no evidence too.

Gamecube/Classic Controller. Problem solved. Both can be bought seperately and they're not too expensive as far as I know.
