TBH I think Gran was just as happy as any of us to break the monotony, once she was lying down she wasn't in any pain. That said, waiting on a trolley for six hours isn't exactly pleasant.

I'm going to share with you something nerdy and mathematically/statistically interesting that may amuse some of you.

I was with friends playing card games when the player to my left played something that was about to screw either me or the player opposite me over. He couldn't choose who to pick so he decided to let us roll two dice (d6) and would pick whoever won the roll. We both rolled. Both dice turned up 3. We rolled again. They were both 4s. We rolled again. Both 1s. Both 5s. Then, his rolled 4 and mine got stuck inbetween the crack between the tables, half-way between the five and the four and would have rolled onto the four had it not been stopped by the crack. So we rolled again. Both 2s.
He decided to take matters into his own hands and rolled two dice himself. One was the classic, every-day six-sided die (d6). The other was a DnD classic: the d20, a twenty-sided die. You can imagine the chances of one rolling higher than the other, by the sheer fact of there being 14 more numbers on one than the other alone. Both

Like wtf? What in the world is even the statiscal probabilty of that happening? It caused some hilarity around the table and in the end he just decided to flip a coin.
