Heck, I feel the same. I always log into this place everyday, even if it's just to say hi. It's nice having conversations even when there isn't new Rayman material.

Yeah it's pretty special isn't it. Definitely lives up to the 'C' in RPC, community.

Now we just gotta work on the Pirate part. Anyone got torrents to Rayman Legends for the PC, I missed the Steam sale.

When I talk about the RPC to others, I always tell them it's 'my Facebook' - and by that I mean it's my social meeting place. I agree with you roles - the community is a lovely place to stop by each day to chat to folks. It even gets sort of lonely when there's nobody else around (and others note this too, haha).

Hah, I like your thinking 'RPC is my Facebook' - Schweet.

So, my name looks like it has a reference to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in it. Totally unintentional. But when this was brought to my attention I realised that I am kind of connected to MGM (though according to the rule of six degrees of separation I guess we all are). I teased an anecdote relating to this, but only now have I decided to post it.
Back in May 2013, I was reading the book
When Hollywood Had a King. A lot of the book, particularly some of the earlier sections, dealt with organised labour and the corruption pertaining thereto. On a Saturday morning I read a part that mentioned that there was a priest in Hollywood who was trying to work against this, but was suddenly moved to a completely different part of the country by the Archbishop of Los Angeles. Years later he happened to meet a teamster, who basically told him that the corrupt unions and studios were responsible for his transfer. It was also mentioned that Louis B. Mayer was an "honourary pallbearer" at the Archbishop's funeral, leaving little doubt as to the complicity of the latter in the affair.
So anyway, I tend to be amused by this kind of story, so I read out some passages from this section to my parents to share the laughter, so to speak. It mentioned that the Archbishop's name was Cantwell, which struck me as distinctly Irish. My father told me that my grandfather used to be a friend of some Cantwells who lived in Limerick. After a bit of Googling, I found that Archbishop Cantwell had in fact grown up in Limerick!
Shortly after, Dad and I went to visit my grandmother down the street (as we used to do every Saturday morning, and Sunday morning, and indeed every night). I repeated my findings to her, and she mentioned that, years ago, one evening my grandfather came home and was quite excited, claiming to have a very important person with him. Her memory of it wasn't perfect, but this person was a Bishop, perhaps even an Archbishop! Whoever he was, he was ushered into the kitchen to meet the family. As I heard this, I was standing in that same kitchen. As I tried to organise this information in my head, Dad put it succinctly: "That Archbishop might have stood in the exact spot where you're standing now!"
So, there you have it: A place where I went every day of my life may once have been host to a clergyman whose coffin was carried by the second M in MGM!
So now, you see my affinity for purple prose, as well as all other things purple.

I do apologise for the length of this post. For a tl;dr version, I guess see the last line of the text-wall, beginning with "So there you have it".

Isn't that an astonishing fact of our lives in this world?
