Sit rep: So I tried all the suggestions in this thread and sadly they didn't work, but they were all very worthwhile! I had a read through the instruction manual for both the DVD player & TV remotes/machines and thankfully (after a lot of reading & trial & error) found what I was looking for! It's all fixed now! - So thanks again to everybody who suggested something, it was very much appreciated!

Out of curiosity, what did the problem turn out to be in the end?

A constant channel display or something, it just required the correct button to be pressed, but of course it wasn't marked up very obviously and it was quite hidden among all of them!

So somebody pressed a single button by accident then. I wish that wasn't so easy to do and so hard to fix.

Haha probably my Grandparents fiddling with it, it's quite a small remote to see! - Yeah it's always the way isn't it? Haha easy to bugger up, super hard to fix!

Sorry for the double post, but this is really weird. I heard a voice.

So you know when you're in bed in the morning, you're not asleep, you're fully awake but you just have your eyes shut. So I was like that, then suddenly I heard a voice... It sounded like someone whispering through a walkie-talkie, not a nice voice either, a sort of deep menacing whispering voice, the kinda stuff you hear in horror films. Y'know, like a creepy whisper through a vent or something. So this makes me open one eye, and think what's going on? It stops, and then it starts again. Both eyes open now thinking 'what the hell?!' I lie there and listen to it till it stops. I couldn't make out any words, but I knew it was talking and in speaking in English, it was just somewhat muffled.

Very weird.

I asked everyone in the house, my Dad & my Mum if they were talking, or had the TV on or something. Nothing.

What's going on?!?!

I'd ask if you lived in a terrace, but somehow I suspect not. Weird. Were you able to discern what it was saying?

False alarm everyone, try not to laugh at me too hard! So an hour or so ago I was in my bedroom, I suddenly hear exactly what I heard this morning again. I freak out, I think I'm about to be jumped by a demon or something, I rush to my window and there is this minibus...

In a muffled, weird-ass deep robotic voice which sounds like it's being said through a walkie-talkie.

Ah yes, they have it on the Garbage Trucks as well, always found that rather amusing.

Well when I went up there this morning and I heard it in my room again for the 2nd time, I was freaking out. Rushing around looking everywhere, I really though that was the end of the road for rolesfamily LOL , I was gonna be engulfed by some kinda demon or poltergeist. I had been concerned about it all morning, worrying if it was paranormal or if I was losing my mind!

Hmm, wording was slightly different though, with the one I usually hear it goes:

STAND WELL CLEAR, VEHICLE REVERSING

And so on, gets more grating than demonic.

Poor baby I know I would have been pretty much the same as you in that situation.
