Perhaps they will add the Globox Village (along with the Glob Crystals and the three minigames) as a piece of priced downloadable content.

4 mins of footage.
The game is looking beeeautiful..
I'm pissed to not have seen again the Purple Lum in the end of the Woods of Light. Not Globox Village again, Ubisoft?! For the second time?! :pascontent:

Is it so hard to adapt the Disk minigame to wireless multiplayer gaming? Or was it all about lazyness?

I'm also disappointed that the touch screen's kaleidoscope effect is statical and not animated. They could have putted it moving, or even integrating the VMU animations from the original DC version, upgraded graphically or not.

The rest looked ok to me.

Maybe only for the 3D effects and the suppoused movement detection from the console, that I still don't know if it is integrated in the game or not.

To ensure that everyone knows how stupid the removal of the Globox Village is, here is a video showcasing it:

and here is a closer look at its best minigame, Globox Disc:

The retention or omission of the Globox Village is the main deciding factor as to whether this version can be considered definitive. Now it seems that it cannot.

For some dumb reason, the games (not the console itself) is sold right now, before the offical launch day.
Here are some unboxing pics of this game:

I'm getting this game on saturday, but I'm gonna be away for the weekend so I can't post my impressions till next week.

I'll be looking forward to read your opinions about it.

Remember that the 3DS' release in North America is today.

*Sees the inside of the manual - Inserts sarcasm* Well done Ubisoft, for doing the prettiest manual ever. (*Expects a better European manual*)

They could have putted the original R2 artwork instead of Rayman 3's, which doesn't make any sense. People who don't know his story will get like "Waaa?".

So... in America game usually come out on Sundays, while most games in Europe come out on Fridays, right? Tuesday is a little unusual for a game to come out even then. I doubt the manuals will be nice though, usually they like to squeeze as many languages as possible and even then they are halfarsed. I should be able to get it on at least Friday as part of the preorder so I'll try and take shots too.

Better change the news template shortly then.

edit: wow the back of it doesn't even show screenshots, not a good way to sell a game. Least the UK one has screens and has that funny "fat-face" screenshot.

Reminds me of the PS1 manual, except it has a character presentation for Rayman. But why do they use his Rayman 3 art? Wouldn't that confuse new players?

They were using R3 artwork for Rayman DS as well but it didn't stop some people buying it. And lest we forget how Rayman 2 artwork was used for when Rayman on GBC came out.

For me it isn't shocking the artwork of GBC games being R2-like: there are few differences when comparing with the classical Rayman from '95. Now R2 compared with R3 style is another thing: there are a lot more differences.

As expected NGamer bashes the fuck out of it though the review isn't available yet

Like Gamesmaster they've always bashed the Rayman series so I wouldn't bite just yet.

Down with Rayman haters.

They have my total contempt for saying such a barbarity.

Like if car games like Need for Speed and Grand Turismo were massively original than any other game. I still cannot understand how these game series are so succesful.

That Matthew Castle guy, being an editoral staff for that NGamer magazine, kinda reminds me of Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo. Both ruins their places by being biased morons. Castle is just not as worse than Diaz, however.

What’s your problem with Gran Turismo? Those games are excellent.

Excelent in which way, if you are able to explain me? For its genre and graphism maybe? I can admit its graphism is outstanding, but simulator games aren't my genre. But I don't censorship anyone here who likes those games. Or maybe I should be quiet, because I'm not quite well humoured today for something really annoying that happened to me.

Guys, I think there's a hope about the Purple Lum issue. A guy replied me and said that the Purple Lum only appears in the Woods of Light when you beat the Fairy Glade. I'm waiting for a second answer since I replied him and asked him more things to make sure if the source is true.

I find a plausible change since Ubisoft wanted to make "easier learning curve" or something, in Rayman 3D. Does this means it is a fake alarm?

The only one I’ve played is Gran Turismo 2; if you want to know why it’s an excellent game, you will find its critical reception more informative than any subjective thoughts I may have to offer (though I think it’s worth mentioning that I had a huge amount of fun with it as a child).

I suspect the person who told you that the Purple Lum would only appear after the Fairy Glade was completed was confused and not too familiar with the game; perhaps he mixed up the presence of Purple Lums with the ability to grab them (which Rayman receives at the end of the Fairy Glade). I don’t see any reason to remove the Lum’s teasing premature appearance and its Stone of Thought; it’s supposed to tempt you into revisiting and exploring the Woods of Light once you get the power. Then again, I find it perplexing that the Lum was removed in the first place.

Alright. I give my apologies if I offended anyone here, I repeat that I'm not quite well humoured today.

That's why I did him more questions to make sure if the source is true, but nothing better than an RPC member to confirm that.

Well if it does turn out to be bad then at least I can't say I paid for it full price seeing as it's coming with my preorder and hopefully better Rayman games will show up provided that they just stop fuckin outsourcing.
