I recommend being patient with the original Rayman game. It isn't close to other games in the series in terms of difficulty. I don't know if you're already using it, but using a controller is way better than using the keyboard.

Come on Greengoop, how you can even find the will to live with the shame of not being a true pro electronic g4m3rz at that 1995 kids' game?
In an seriousness, there's no shame if it takes you a lot of time or if you cheat, most people playing this game use the 99 lives code.
Even if I'm personally very good at it, I do know that the original Rayman isn't easy for a lot of folks, and that's also why Ryemanni's fangame is called "Redemption" as it basically attempted to redeem the game in the eyes of the people who found it too hard or were disappointed by a few other flaws.

If you wish to see Rayman back you should watch this video
Davide Soliani, the Creative Director of Mario + Rabbids left a message for the Rayman community to read
This video made me notice a few errors I made when I wrote the message because I had to translate it from Italian, being dyslexic and excited to share this message didn't help!

Isn’t using a controller also cheating?
Why would that be? Both Rayman 1 and Redemption feature actual controller implementation.
Use one in Rayman and the game will bring you to a calibration menu, while Redemption got a dedicated controller section in the settings.
Besides, keyboard + mouse is often considered a superior control scheme for precision in games and thanks to the many shortcuts/extra buttons it has, so it should be the other way around.

Both of them use 99 and infinite lives implementation as well

I think that there's a clear distinction between a hidden bonus feature explicitly considered a "cheat code" and a normal compatibility feature made for your comfort.
With that logic, wouldn't it be cheating to play any old game in widescreen or in any high resolution on our modern devices?
Or to emulate DOS games like the PC release of Rayman, like GOG does through DOSBox?
You gotta use an oversized grey potato from the 80-90s with MS-DOS if you wanna play legit, man.

I wish you would talk to my dad! He's been trying to beat Rayman with a keyboard on-and-off for over 20 years! I want to see him beat it so badly, but the furthest he has ever gotten is Candy Chateau. Doesn't help that my mom loaths when he boots up the game, though. He gets so invested in the game that it's hard to pull him away from the computer, so I suppose an unhappy wife is another hurdle he would have to contend with next to the keyboard

In May I was invited to a community workshop at Ubisoft Milan to playtest Rayman in the Phantom Show. I would like to thank Ubisoft Milan, Davide and the development team for inviting me to the studio. The whole experience was simply quite magical.
The team has worked so hard. To witness the creative processes behind the game development was fascinating. From my experience I wholeheartedly would love to see Ubisoft Milan work on Rayman again in the future.
I can't wait for you all to play the game. So much work has been put into this brand new Rayman adventure. From my experience of visiting the studio you seriously got a sense of how much love the studio has for Rayman.
On behalf of ItzalDrake, I am honored to deliver a personal message from Davide Soliani to the whole community ahead of Rayman in the Phantom Show:
For all of us at Ubisoft Milan who worked on DLC 3, it was a dream come true to be able to bring Rayman back into the Mario + Rabbids universe because Rayman is the first game I made when I joined Ubisoft in 1999.
There I worked on Rayman for GameBoy Color, Rayman's movements, and at the time the designers didn't only make the game structure and the rules but also the levels, so I learned to make my first levels, exploit the limitations of the console and memory limitations and for me so it was a dream to be able to bring back in Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC.
So I hope that the community and all Rayman players support us as much as possible because I'm on a mission: my mission is to be able to bring Rayman back to the glory he deserves.
Among other things, in the DLC there is a secret hidden message that players who will 100% complete the DLC can read!
So I hope for your support and I hope you like it!

Oh nice, that's really cool! I was also invited but responded late, so I didn't get the opportunity to be there. I am delighted for everyone who got to be there.

Thank you for the information! Seeing everyone enjoy Ubisoft Milan's studio was very heart-warming. I hold strong faith in Soliani and the team to work very hard to bring Rayman back, and I hope you and the others will look back fondly on the memories you have made with each other and the team at Ubisoft.

As a Mario and Rayman fan, I would be excited playing this game even if Rayman wasn’t in it. But I am looking forward for everyone playing the Rayman DLC and seeing what it’s like. I’m gonna have to wait awhile since I don’t have the game yet

Kinda curious when this event happened, I only know that it occurred this summer (it would have helped me if I had been more active on Discord, heh). Kudos to you two and everyone else who was invited though! And it’s nice to see you around RT.
I don’t think I could have made it even if I had been invited tbh (Europe and America are pretty far away from each other obviously).

But yeah I don’t blame you for not playing them. I only played the first because as a kid I thought maybe, just *maybe* if I beat all of the mini games then Rayman 4 would start. Ah, how sad is that?
So I'm not the only one!

If there was ever a new game coming out for Rayman (which I have -14% hope for), I hope it will steer away from this Ubiart trend.
Where did that very specific percentage come from?
Rayman Saturn wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:46 pmWell... why would anyone join the RPC if they didn't like the franchise?
So they could post about how much they hate rayman?
Yeah, I do forget that some people have way too much free time on their hands to even consider doing things like that.
I genuinely wonder if it has actually happened before here. Guess they could start the Rayman hate club or something.
Ever heard of TARC?

As someone currently in the middle of my first Demise playthrough, I don't recommend that mode at all unless you want to experience true suffering.
Oh wow, you're trying it? How fast are you getting through it?

Just came up with it randomly. I think it was from a YT video I watched long ago.

I see… Maybe it's an approximation of "minus one seventh" (-1/7), but I don't know what that would reference in turn
