Is this rare'?, just asking, looks cool compared to the final version

anyway, I found the next: these are screenshots from a educational Rayman game, but the hud is gone and Rayman is off center of the screen, like some early screenshots of Rayman 1. this is a recolor of a Rayman artwork for the Japanese version of Rayman 2 from the Japanese Ubisoft's website.

Did you know than in Rayman DOS games, you could turn off the HUD in the Options menu, right?

Well, the missing HUD isn't strange, since you can turn it off in the game. (EDIT: I see David beat me to this ) But Rayman being off-centre suggests they were probably editor screenshots, with his sprite pasted in afterwards.

Oook I haven't seen that third one before, nice find as ever. Is there a bigger version of the first one though? Feeling a bit like one of the Winnie the Pooh memes trying to read it.

I've heard of the storyline that involves Jimmy, but I have never heard about Kevin . That Rayman 2 themed N64 is a great find, if you could provide the name and number of the magazine it would be a great help.

Haven't poked into this thread in a bit so I'll just ramble my thoughts:

This whole Kevin Boy thing is new to me too, must've been some kind of weird mistranslation hehe Interesting for Rayman to be considered human, I always felt he was more of an "odd-thing" that isn't meant to make much sense by design. I do recognize some of those beta screenshots though, like the Blue Mountains one. I don't recall the Candy Chateau one, with the cool castle in the background and the frosting ledge. Looks neat!

That Rayman2 N64 looks so cool, at least it's probably much cooler looking than my teal/blue see-through one.

That Rabbids concept art hurts quite a lot, especially with where Rayman is currently...

I like the Rayman DS bottom screen HUD, that purple pink color with that glow is very fetching!

More than a mistranslation, just a dubious localization, as is often the case in video games, though I must admit this has vastly improved over the years, with most series being a lot more consistent across languages nowadays. Still, interesting choice of Kevin!

Good finds, I've never seen that puzzle and yeah, sometimes you can find rare stuff on Pinterest. Here is a video of Manuel Hauss, too bad I can't understand what he is saying.

He doesn't say anything specific really, he just talks about what it takes to work in the field of 3D modelling and animation. The pictures of Rayman flash up when he mentions working for Ubisoft for a decade, but he just says he created characters and concepts, nothing specific about them.

I wonder if he has more stuff of Ly in Rayman M stored somewhere.

this are screenshots of Rayman 2. If you see, the hud have many inconsistent, like be the same hud on every screenshots, the Rayman's hands aren't golden when have the power fist, the Rayman's head is not displayed on the air meter, The Prison Ship only have 50 Lums when actually are 94 Lums and the numbers has less details looking like the numbers of the N64 version. one of these screenshots was used in the Dreamcast website of Rayman 2. this is an early logo of Rayman DS.

I actually used to own that magazine (it's the cover), though I must have lost it ages ago.

The recent Dreamcast website recreation used random screenshots from other platforms, as the original screenshots that were on there were lost. These are all screenshots from Rayman 3D (well, screenshots from a dev build running on a PC, edited in Photoshop... :p My guess is the HUD is edited in too.)

When was the website remade?
