I watched the Nut Job, a shitty movie about an asshole squirrel. When Gangnam Style started to play for no apparent reason, I wanted to kill myself for making the decision to watch this garbage.

I'll be finishing "Jelly Tarzan" or known in America "Ivan the Incredible" tonight.

I watched 12 monkeys tonight, it was really perfect, well used ideas, I see no defect here, and I would suggest it to everyone.

I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy. It was... not very funny. The humor was very dated. Actually, there was one funny bit - the guy who didn't understand sarcasm. Nothing else though.

It was (for me) the cheap Senegalese counterfeit version of star wars.

I liked Guardians, the characters were interesting. Rocket reminded me of The island of Dr. Moreau.
Anyway, re-watched Tenacious D last night. Love that film and the band

I didn't want to watch it at first, I just thought it was just everyone jumping onto the Marvel bandwagon. But I got dragged to the cinema to see it and it was surprisingly good.

It was more than just the humor for me: I didn't think anything in the movie was very original. The characters are all stereotypes or something we've seen before, including Groot (take the Iron Giant, who was also voiced by Vin Diesel), yet weren't given anything new to say or do. It acted like you'd never seen any of these character types before. I admit to actually cringing at the 70's mixtape with the piña colada song - they referenced it so often and I thought they couldn't have picked something less original. That song has been used to death, to the point it doesn't leave a proper emotional impact when it's supposed to, and it's not funny when it's supposed to be.
Even the character I liked, Drax, I thought was played very safely. Suffice to say, his humor was the most effective because of some well-timed jokes.
Predictable story, predictable villain, predictable plot twists, and predictable humor (mostly). Relatively enjoyable still, but I can't understand why people think it's so amazing, not to mention "one of their favorite movies ever". There are many space-action movie comedies/spoofs that did what it did up to decades ago, some funnier and much more challenging. And, at their point, the jokes were more fresh too.

I enjoyed the soundtrack, it was my kinda music. But I see what you mean by the characters being unoriginal.

I quite liked the guardians of the galazy. not the most original film but definitely a great movie.
SPEAKING OF GREAT MOVIES!
I saw Deadpool today and the fact that I can say that after years of waiting makes me giggle with childlike glee.
The movie is really good, the humour is out of this world, the intro credits alone had me in stitches and the definitely did Deadpool justice as a character.
The only thing about the movie I didn't like very much was the badguy.. I can't get into it because spoilers but ye.. not that amazing.
Overall very good movie though and I suggest that anyone who likes comicbook movies should watch it as soon as possible.

I recently re-saw Aladdin on Blu-ray, and I think it still holds up really well by today's standards if not more so now that I understand the Arabic culture as well as many of the Genie's gags; not to mention how well it blends traditional 2D animation with 3D environments! That and I find Aladdin to be pretty cute now

Deadpool was better than i expected, i think overall I kinda like the more comical entries from Marvel better than the edgier ones.
