Right-click->Properties->Compatibility tab->Run in Compatibility mode for... Windows XP/ME/2000 SP3
Or something like that. Mind you, it probably won't do the trick. Oh, I had it working at some point; if only I could remember what I did. I think it might have involved making a shortcut to the desktop (right-click: create shortcut) and then doing all of the above steps on that. Not sure though.

What's the pun?
Forget-TING.

To be honest, older Windows games start to work better on Linux+Wine than on new Windows I heard.

Thank you! Will try it later and I'll tell you if it works ;D

EDIT: It didn't work...didn't work with Windows XP compatibility or Windows 2000 compatibility so I think it definitely won't work. The game was released in 1999 so I thought it was gonna run okay with Win 2000 compatibility but it didn't...

Yeah the compatibility thing almost never does it - but sometimes it does. Have you tried the shortcut trick? If you have, try combining all three.
I just can't remember the wonder remedy I found to play old games on Vista. My friend, who has Vista and can play Rayman 2 (I gave him one of my five copies - yay!), is coming over today so I'll ask him what he did to be able to play it. I'll get back to you when I know. Hopefully the solution will work for you too.

Wow thank you very much! I will try with my pirate copy.Maybe it'll work if the original game doesn't...

Hmm... sorry - I was at my friend's house today and we played Rayman 2; it just plays fine on his Vista computer so there's no special settings I can recommend you. Sorry and good luck fixing your problem.

I already got the GOG version, I'll test after in my laptop to see if the pirate head really disappeared.
If they've fixed that then it's definitely sold on me when I get a new laptop! Hated that so much.
Hot damn. I never thought to check GOG.

Now if only System Shock 2 would pop up, then I'd be set to install 64-bit Windows 7 on my desktop as well.

Well, see, whenever I find a video of Rayman 2 on YouTube that's from the N64 version, the characters look squashed. Maybe that's just the videos then, but it's bad to hear that the music is different! Eric Chevalier has been dishonoured! :x

Music is indeed different. But squashed characters? Someone has been playing with aspect ratio I suppose.

For the most part they simply recreated his original soundrack in MIDI format. Watch some Rayman 2 N64 videos on YouTube if you want to hear what it’s like.

Sorry for making off-topic but that's the best way to get help xD

I have an urgent question!
In what Rayman 2 or 3 levels does one of the the moons show, in detail? I know there's one in Whale Bay, but it's orange. I remember seeing one where you can clearly see its surface, like you sometimes can on our moon. I really need to know because I need to snap a picture for a reference image.
OR
Does anyone have a good reference image of one of Rayman's world's moons?

Oh, yes, it's urgent, because I'm drawing the moon right now and I need to know what it looks like. :P

PS
There's one in the ending sequence to Rayman 2, right?
