What the hell are you talking about? I'm not the one inviting people, but you're always welcome.Pirez wrote:Oh so that's why I'm not allowed in there... That actually explains a lot.Rayfist wrote:The skype chat helped me to connect with the members on here beyond a level of friendship

It's only for the "cool kids" guess we pretty much felt the same thing in kindergarten when we were one of those who didn't owned a game boy.Pirez wrote:Oh so that's why I'm not allowed in there... No one had a game boy in my case personally.
Re: Off Topic
T'was a joke m8, but since you're not that much around, I figured you couldn't get it. It's just that I asked several times if I could get in, everybody say I'm welcomed everytime but nobody invites me ^^Rayfist wrote:What the hell are you talking about? Re: Off Topic
I could have got you in since a lot of time now but when I asked you your Skype you just replied to my message without any information. (It's too late now since adsolution blocks the new invitations.)
Re: Off Topic
I don't recall doing that, but it seems quite characteric of me, who's prone to not get subtle hints.

I don't allow public joining for security reasons; just add me on Skype (rayfan9876).

Re: Off Topic
Hmm, I just realized that yesterday a week ago was the tenth anniversary of the retail release of Windows Vista. I remember being so excited, even though it would be months before I'd actually get a computer capable of running it!
Where I'm working now, most of what I do is on Windows 7, plus Microsoft Office 2013, which uses Win10-style opaque windows. I noticed this and it got me thinking about how the novelty of transparent windows seems to have worn off. I looked at the transparent toolbar in Windows Explorer and realized it's actually quite silly. I'm beginning to wonder why I was ever impressed by transparent windows (well, I guess being 11 when they first appeared helped!).
[/somewhat random musings]

Re: Off Topic
Pretty much what I went through, I was amazed by the Aero aesthetic and stuff like Flip3D. My previous laptop initially had Vista on it, and was upgraded to 7 later on. While I agree that Aero, looking back, was somewhat overdone, I don't really like what 8.1 did with the excessive flatness, and I'm glad to see that 10 is trying to bring a sort of balance between the two. Don't get me wrong, I like the glass effect, 8.1 felt way too basic without it.
But at the same time, I don't like how watered down the customisation has become from 8.1 onwards. 7 gave far more control over individual elements, such as title bar colours and fonts. There's also the hybridisation factor, and while I do think MS have started to find a nice middle ground for touch-screen and mouse users, there are some aspects I still don't find myself too fond off. For example, I wish that you could have smaller icons in the All Apps list in the Start Menu, it makes for a lot of scrolling if you're looking for a specific program and you can't find it with search. It's much better than before, mind you, they've started to create a more ubiquitous UI, as opposed to a mish-mash of 10, 8 and 7.

In seriousness, I plan to after graduation of high school, I'm going to apply to a university where I can get my bachelors degree in gaming. Fortunately, such university is in my state and what I want to get can be done online.

Re: Off Topic
I've never really had any major career aspirations, it was always going to be tech related, but I never knew the specifics. I'm kinda wanting to work with a group like ARM, but that might just be a pipe dream.
Either ways, one thing I'm pretty sure about getting is chartered status, but that'll take quite some time.

Nah, they like cocaine and crack more than alcohol, although for the first one, you'd be pretty surprised to see through where they absorb it.Ray502 wrote:No alcohol in the mix? Re: Off Topic
Let's say it involved a lot of alcohol and being too selfless which lead to a disastrous night with me walking under the rain to get home.

TL;DR: inco had two and a half bottles of root beer and got so drunk his primary school classmates drew a dick on his forehead with tippex. He's been wearing a mask ever since.incognito wrote:Let's say it involved a lot of alcohol and being too selfless which lead to a disastrous night with me walking under the rain to get home.

I mean that's just the underbelly of my goals as well, but... that's all I'll say on that noteHunchman801 wrote:Get rich, drugs and hookers?nr0r wrote:I guess we could talk about career aspirations?
