Just watched the full review, I really need to consider this for PC, though I'm still not entirely sure, it actually looks really great.

[epic_post] I have strong feelings that Rayman 1 was the hardest of the lot. I think it was simply due to the number of lives system, the steep dificulty curve [/epic_post]

I've never played GBA, is it any good? Or more importantly, is it hard?

The GBA port gives you 4 hit points without a Super Power and 6 when you do have one, so it is a little easier. I think it kind of suffers from the smaller screen size though, since the sprites are all the same height and Rayman fills almost a third of the screen!

The GBA version deliberately adds features to make the game easier, such as adding extra safety platforms in the most frustrating levels (Space Mama's Crater) to make up for the screen size, but as it's based on the PC version, the Electoon cages and extra lives are harder to come by, so I'm not sure what versions easier....
I always go 'oh great' every time I have to begin a game of Rayman with 5 continues though.

Concerning the original versions, I think the difficulty is balanced.
Cages are easier to find in PS1 but there are less life statues to find. Cages are harder to find in PC but there are more life statues to find.
I found Jaguar easier than the other versions too if we put in side the differences in the controls and few details in gameplay mechanics.

I think the PS1 version is more generous with its 1up placement though, particularly in earlier levels.
I actually find some of the unrefined gameplay mechanics in the Jaguar version make it a little more frustrating, but it is true that it is a little easier to make progress through the game that way (take Mr. Sax's Hullaballoo, for instance, that's a lot easier!). Man, I'd love to play Jaguar Rayman on real hardware. I'd rip all the music for Raytunes that way, too

Sadly the only opportunity I had to try out an Atari Jaguar, in April 2012 at a museum in Lisbon exposing consoles of different eras, it wasn't Rayman. I would have stood 10 minutes with it if it had Rayman to try out.
The controller is an authentic plastic brick.

How can Rayman just step on a spike then hipcup then fall onto the ground and STILL be smilling? It seems Rayman is always doing the imposible. And the 'player' always make him fail. But in about 1-20 years Rayman can destroy Mr. Dark with the the help of the magical controler/portable game console in your personal home or location too! (:

I used the cheat at first because I wanted to try the Mr. Dark boss fight on my Gameboy Advance.
The 2nk profile on my Gba is the prfile that I use with no cheats.
The 3rd profile is 100 empty I never touched the 3rd profile on the Gameboy Advance.

On mine, the first profile is my brother, the second is me and the third is with cheats. It tends to be like is on most consoles, I think it's like that on the PSX memory card too
