But the question is : do farts have an actual taste?

Farts are methane gas rejected by your anus, so they shouldn't scientifically have any taste. But another theory explains that farts might have a taste when do they come out of a badly wiped anus as they could actually reject poo during the process of farting. This means farts do not taste anything, it just depends on what accompanies them during the rejection.
