Ah well…

Part of me kinda wishes it had a chance to flourish, the continuum concept sounded pretty neat. Still, it's not the first time that there's been an attempt to hybridise PC and Smartphone, didn't Ubuntu try something similar a few years back?

The Ubuntu convergence project was only called off fairly recently as well. Now they've abandoned Unity and are going back to GNOME, which has the interesting side-effect that the Mir project is completely transforming itself from a display protocol to a mere implementation of the Wayland protocol.

Well, that was expected! I thought it was official already.

Huh, I thought Windows phone was already considered dead a while back. I've hardly ever seen much support, if any, over the years. Plus I can't recall any single time I've ever seen a Microsoft phone at any store, just Android and iOS based ones.

I guess this is just Microsoft coming out of their denial stage over their phones being dead. They were really unfortunate in that they released the mobile platform far too late, where the app market is big for both Android and Apple and there was simply no way they could catch up to that. I don't think they could even compete on price either since they were on par with the prices of an Android phone.

While Microsoft have killed Windows Phone, I don't think they're entirely out of the Mobile space. From what I've seen, they have been very heavy on providing quite a few services for Android, to the point where I believe they've had deals with some phone companies to sell phones loaded with Microsoft's applications and services.

Net neutrality is officially dead.

The lawsuits will begin soon enough.

Only in the US though, and no this kind of shit can't transfer over to the EU because we have laws against that.
They can still get net neutrality back, though it's going to be an uphill battle.

For now... Never underestimate the power of the liberal economy and its lobbies. In France, operators jumped on the occasion to mandate a debate over Net Neutrality.
