Its one of my favorite Video Game franchise of all time. The TL;DR of it is:
The first 2 Are 2D side stroller with puzzle elements in it. While the 3rd is a 3D platformer bringing over many things from the first 2. The 4th one Oddworld: Strangers Wrath, is A FPS but has a very unique gameplay style to it. Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty Is a OWI Newly released game built from the ground up is a retelling of The 1st game. (I recommend starting with this one first for new comers.) All of them have been released on PC and I recommend Getting theme on PC or Ps4.

The official site has got all the infos you need. I definitely recommend the remake but the best title for me was Exoddus.

I think remake is the best way to introduce someone to series.

Mmmm, I tried the remake, and to be honest, it's not my cup of tea. The gameplay and the mechanics are just a tad too slow for me to be able to enjoy the game. I might give it another try somewhere later, but for now I can't really say I've enjoyed the short time I've played New N Tasty. I do really like the graphic design and the overall look of the game though.

I guess it depends of tastes. Since I am more an explorer than a speedrunning player the "slowness" isn't something it bothers me.

Whoa, okay I never knew about this...
The creators of Oddworld New 'n Tasty, Just Add Water, asked Kojima if they could create a remake of Metal Gear Solid 1 in the Fox Engine.

So are these guys just Oddworld fans or PS1 fans in general? I'm very curious to see how they would recreate MGS1.

Oddworld is a very different genre but does anyone think Just Add Water could handle a remake of MGS1? They did claim to know the source material very well, so I'm quite curious, since I do like the looks of the Oddworld remake, haven't played it yet though.

It seems that Exoddus' remake is gonna starts soon:

I'm hyped about this. Exoddus was the best game out of the four without any doubt.

What? I mean, Rayman is understanding since they have legitimate differences in there versions, but I somehow doubt New N Tasty will be much different on PS3 (probably run at a worse framerate than PC)

I know but I also have Oddworld titles on my PS3 since cases like Munch, the HD port wasn't done yet for the PC version for some odd reason. I will wait for a possible price cut in future too so I don't pay that much.

I totally get you. I also aim to have all games from some series on same console. Considering that like you said Munch HD was not done for PC, it was needed to be purchased on PS3, so why not own all Oddworld games on it :mryellow:
Waiting for price cut is good idea, PSN usually has nice deals. I recently got Gravity Rush for less than $1
