The word 'desire' does. It's quite obvious that Polokus has some control over his creations anyway. How else did he create the four masks, designing guardians that only Rayman would be able to defeat? How else did he use his sense of humour when creating the Globoxes? The game is pretty clear about this.PluMGMK wrote:How does that quote imply any degree of control?

Re: Globox's species
I don't think Polokus designed the Guardians specifically just so only Rayman can defeat them, because it just says how "only a true hero" can do it etc. but I have to agree with the fact that he must have control over his creations now about how you mentioned this. Maybe it just has something about him unable to control anything whilst asleep(but then he's "sleeping" when Rayman is searching for the masks which completely contradicts this, but then that's dreams and not nightmares)? That happens in real life as well I suppose.

Re: Globox's species
Maybe he can control his dreams, but not his nightmares? I don't know...
About the scenes where Rayman gives Polokus the masks while he's supposedly still asleep: during the first one, he says "For now I am far away and can only speak in dreams". Maybe those scenes take place within Rayman's mind or something, and that's how Polokus was able to speak with him? That's the impression I got when I first played the PS1 version, for some reason. Although that doesn't quite make sense (what with Rayman existing withing Polokus's dream, that would mean that Rayman's dream is a kind of 'metadream', and there's also the confusing matter of whether the masks are real within Polokus's dream and insubstantial within Rayman's dream, or the other way around [if Rayman entered his dream with a mask, then gave the mask to Polokus, then awakened without the mask, does that mean that the mask 'disappeared' into his dream?])... perhaps we should just say that the line between dreams and reality is very blurred in Rayman's world, and leave it at that.

But that place is real - Rayman's funeral is held there.

Just because Rayman dreamed that he went there does not mean that it cannot also be real...

I used to think of Polokus sitting there with Rayman as a statue of himself that he controls.

On a related note, I really like the signature I'm using right now. It's by far the best one I've ever made.

Pokolus?
I think the text in the sig needs changing BTW.
Anyway, I think I agree with Acarr.

It seems so (provided you meant 'non-existent').

I didn't actually notice that he was a midget until the second time I played through.Acarr wrote:I used to think of Polokus sitting there with Rayman as a statue of himself that he controls.
I thought his hat was his face and his body was the rock D:
Re: Globox's species
Same here I think it is because his skin colour is the same as the rock colour.

Bump
You know the 'Incredible Glute' Toots was talking about? I was playing in TLOTLD when Globox inflated like a balloon and said, rather loudly, 'I bet even Spider-Glute can't do this!'
Who's he talking about?

We came to the conclusion that glutes are those weird blue birds (you can see one in a cage close to the Xowar).
For more information, you can have a look at the Globox's species topic from here.

Re: Globox's species
I've never really looked at that Rayman 3 booklet thing before; one thing in particular caught my interest:
Something about a 'Grand Metronome'? What is it? Is it related to the Grand Minimus in some way?
That was two years ago; did you ever get around to scanning it?Hunchman801 wrote:It's not my artbook, but I got them together. I may scan my artbook when I get back home.StaceyW wrote:Is this the Rayman 3 art book you were given? If so thanks very much for posting!

It's just about the Teensies' never-ending music and dancing. The Grand Metronome is to keep the tempo right.spiraldoor wrote:I've never really looked at that Rayman 3 booklet thing before; one thing in particular caught my interest:

It would seem that I actually forgot about it; anyway, I'm not going back to France before one month, so it might take a while... and a lot of reminders toospiraldoor wrote:That was two years ago; did you ever get around to scanning it?

It’s been six months... I trust you’ve arrived safely in France by now?
