I wasn't having any author in particular, but I tried to give out a feeling of those old story books for kids.

I think you did a good job on the textures here, sets the tone pretty well to make up for not having to use colour.

I could totally see that appear in a book at some time. Nice!

Ad, your Moskito Rayman pic was pretty good. But stop fearing bad techniques and just get to drawing. You'd better draw badly and then improve than not draw at all, right?

The way you draw some female characters like Miss Yellow at the bottom left reminds me a lot of Dick Figures:
