How do we know Tings are Rayman Dollars? Maybe they're Rayman cents? How do Lums fit into this?

What if tings are just bits of the protoon, if that’s so, we should make an account called protoon and make everyone donate their tings there

Lums are technically not currency in R2. And it's not like the system here uses lums either!

Well, they're not, since the Protoon is always intact in Rayman 1, just stolen

Makes me wonder why they chose the Yellow Lums as a currency later on when they're supposed to be limited fragments of the Heart (which is never implied to be shattered from that point on)!
They could have either brought back the Tings (and maybe make them fairies like in GBC to make them more whimsical) or create brand new collectibles.
Even if they're not canon, I'm curious what monetary value the Coloured Tings may hold.

Y'know maybe instead we should just go what they call them in Origins in their appearances there and say Looms, instead of Lums. Then it will make more sense!

Indeed, and that's why RayWiki considers them distinct from the yellow Lums from Rayman 2. That, and because they can turn all sorts of colors.
