When I was fighting him I kept accidentally saying “thanks mawpaw, you’re a real one”

You knew it was called a 'Mawpaw' while fighting Razoff? I don't believe it. I didn't even know Razoff was called Razoff while fighting him.

Yeah, even though it’s not very clear. I knew the trapped things were named Uglies as well

Oh yeah, I remember finding out his name much later when playing the bonus levels. I remember wondering who "Razoff" was, and if there was a connection to Razorbeard :hap:

I guess Greengoop did some research before starting :mefiant:

So in other words you should have more of an advantage than us older people playing these games! Although I don't think I ever struggled on Bongo Hills the way you did

Well if I had to choose an R2 level I hate most, it would be Tomb of the Ancients. Has one of the few pieces of music I don't like, and overall is much more disturbing than the Cave of Bad Dreams which to some people was already creepy enough. Bonus points for having to rescue Clark at the end though!

I remember the music with the spider being flat out creepy, where it starts making those horror screeching noises.

I don't know if I really can chose a least favourite level for real at this point. I do know I find some levels a bit less fun than others, but it's hard to truly dislike one. I think a lot of people tend to hate the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire in Rayman 2, due to its length, though personally I kind of like it. The only thing that bothers me about it is if you manage to miss one lum and have to play the whole level all over again. :P

Most of that tune is also present during the canopy spider chase. But the overall atmosphere of the Tomb is creepier. Don't forget the annoying part with the endless stream of zombie chickens flying every which way if you are going for all lums and cages.

In fact, the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire is one of the more forgiving levels about missed lums. You can revisit most areas multiple times. All you need to do is make sure you have 33 lums and 7 cages before falling into part 2, and in part 2 - not miss the well-hidden cage. Actually, the lum that is easiest to miss is the last one, right before the mask! :confus:

I can think of quite a few levels where it is very easy to miss lums and have to replay whole section - anything in the chair ride segment of Top of the World, the last lums before Foutch in Beneath the Sanctuary, and of course the famous round pit in the Prison Ship. What's common to all these is that if you miss one, you may not have the opportunity to kill yourself quickly before the game automatically takes you to the next section.

Oh yeah, that lum at the end of Stone and FIre is actually really easy to miss, considering it's just off to the side in the mask room. :o

Yeah that's pretty true, the contrast of the music with the actual atmosphere makes it seem a lot more creepy overall.

I suppose that makes sense when it comes to just casually playing through and completing the game. However, I have an issue where I always tend to want to collect every lum and 100% the game.

Oh yeah this chair section I always found quite annoying and tedious for that. At least in Prison ship you can just fall off the edge, aside from that round pit you have mentioned which I have of course very often missed one single lum on and had to play the level again. The chair one though seems a bit more tedious in that way, as you have to keep spinning around in circles and it starts to kind of disorient you while you're trying to collect them.

Those two occurences though are the most annoying throughout the game for me, the chair in Top of the World, and the pit in the Prison Ship. I used to find the part with Ssssam annoying too in the Marshes of the Awakening, but that's nothing in comparison so long as you don't miss one of those lums where Ssssam circles 3 times before leaving the area.

Maybe not hated but I didn't like the Bog of Murk from 3 that much, it's just a bit too short to my liking, if the mansion was also a platforming level on top of fighting razoff I think it would be the perfect length.

Yeah, that section took me a while. There's probably a way to control it with precision, but it felt very random to me!
PluMGMK wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 10:47 pm If we're talking about Redemption levels, how about that Candy one where you have to Super-Helicopter from the beginning to the end, picking up several keys and never dying / checkpointing? :beurk:
Had the mechanics of the super helicopter remained the same as in the original game, this section would have been much easier, but the added momentum made it a real pain in the ass.

I hate the Prison ship, it starts off fine, but the rocket shell is a pain in the ass.

Also, not a specific level, but the Murphy Levels, why fun, really break the pace in Rayman Legends

I can definitely concur on the pace break effect of the Murfy levels. They drag a bit...

Prison Ship, though? I loved the flying shell part, once I got the hang of it.
