^ is right, but many smartphones have a CPU clocked at 1 GHz today. And the currently most used 1 GHz CPU for mobile devices is the Snapdragon Qualcomm, that also functions as the GPU, but isn't the best, and can only perform 22 triangles/sec in graphics test. Galaxy S contains PowerVR SGX540 seperate GPU, which can perform 90 million triangles/sec. iPhone 4 contains the same PowerVR SGX535 they've had in 3GS (and it's not the SGX545, and I have researched on the rumor), which is only capable of performing 28 triangles/sec. So that makes Galaxy S the fastest smartphone in terms of hardware. And just wait until the official Android 2.2 (Froyo) comes to Galaxy S with Touchwiz interface. Froyo delivers some serious enhancements to the JIT compiler, that makes the applications run 450% faster. For example, the Nexus One, which has Snapdragon, has already the beat the iPhone 4 really hard in something simple as JavaScript benchmarking, even when Nexus is lower-spec hardware than iPhone. But that would also make Galaxy S the fastest smartphone in terms of software.

And it's actually quite precise, makes typing faster, and supports many languages, even my own.
