You're only denying facts and spreading FUD by using straw man fallacies.

Open source means you're able to read the source code, which is the construction behind the software. That means you're entirely able to see how it works.
Packet sniffing means you're able to read the data that goes through a network from and to the client. That means you're entirely able to see what goes in and out.

Here you have the whole fucking Firefox source code for the latest beta, ignored by the donkeymonkeys you've mentioned. This is available for every kind of developers. No one has ever complained about malicious code. You could have been mistaking something like spyware infecting Firefox...
