Re: Rayman 3
People are not forced to play the ports.
I play because I like to see what they have done in those, but I agree that when they attempt that in most cases it ends messed up.

Re: Rayman 3
I play them because I keep having faith in them making a decent port. I did not buy Rayman 3 HD. The game doesn't look too awful, though.spiraldoor wrote:Here's a mind-blowing idea: don't play them.RayTunes wrote:Ubisoft's nature of endlessly making remakes and ports that are always more mediocre then the actual game.

Re: Rayman 3
Rayman 3 HD to me is the worst port I've ever seen of a Rayman game. How can it be worse than Rayman DS? Well, RDS was somewhat solid. It was lame and had odd bugs here and there, and the controls were bad... and the graphics sucked, but R3HD is riddled constantly with global glitches on a tenfold per level, hundreds of textures are screwed up, the lighting constantly messes up, Globox often gets stuck, every time you replay a level it for some reason unlocks every level and makes the Tower inaccessible, and lastly, a lot of te subtitles don't even match what they're saying. I'm probably forgetting a lot, but I think those things alone are worthy of having it called one of the worst ports in videogame history.
9/10 people who play R3HD will probably literally not be able to complete it for one reason or another.

Re: Rayman 3
I don't remind to see messed up textures (except for the sky of Clearleaf Forest and some waters), but I remind seeing pixelized textures, not improved at all. Globox never got stuck in my game and I was able to access the Tower of the Leptys right after completing the Hoodlum Headquarters. The only issue I had was the transition from the Armaguidons level to the first Mutant form Reflux battle: my game froze twice, all followed. I had to reset the console and waiting for it to finish to scan the whole system in search of corrupted data. At my third attempt I got finally able to enter in the battle part. I don't know how these kind of things "pass" the quality control and the testing team not seeing this or saying a thing. Ubisoft doesn't seem to care in updating the game file to fix these glitches, weren't promissing shortly after the release?
Re: Rayman 3
As I said, it should be interesting.

Well i guess Im the 1 of those who completed it. As i played it, I didn't get any sort of bug. And most of the Hd remakes graphics is very similar to the original game. Take Sly/Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank hd remakes. I mean the graphics is improved, a little. But the graphics don`t mean the games is not enjoyable. I had a great time playing Sly and Rayman 3 HD.

Re: Rayman 3
The problem with Rayman 3HD is that it looks worse than it's source, which is rather pathetic for a HD remake, and from what I've seen, there have been very little graphical improvement. And as for the glitches, well, you should consider yourself lucky if you haven't encountered those which Rayfan has had, one of them is gamebreaking and prevents progression, which would obviously annoy and frustrate the player.BzzitTheMoskito wrote:RayFan9876 wrote:Rayman 3 HD to me is the worst port I've ever seen of a Rayman game. I've played the Jak HD trilogy through, and while I couldn't see many graphical improvements, the games still functioned as well as their PS2 counterparts, and were a joy to play through again, which is how a HD remake should be like.
Re: Rayman 3
It is funny how the most requested port ended up the worst port of any Rayman game ported, in some cases it is not even completable. I can play Rayman DS without big problems in my DS Lite at least, even if the graphics are terrible and other annoying factors but if we compare to a game that some people cannot even beat it for a grave in-game glitch... I still wonder how these mistakes aren't seen in the quality control or in the testing crew. *Sigh*

Hmm i guess if i had those bugs i would agree. But as I didn't get bugs on my way through the game.Master4lyf1 wrote:

As for the graphics, i don't remember the graphics of r3hh in the ps2. But as I remember the graphics of Sly and Jak trilogy. They were similar to graphics to the ps2 with a slightly improvement. So i tought the same of R3HH.
Re: Rayman 3
The only graphical improvements in the HD version that I can remind are some illumination changes (improved) and one 3D model or another with sharper graphics than blurry but the textures are embarassingly worse than in the original game (more pixelized, like if they decided to scale everything and boom, it is HD).
Re: Rayman 3
Does anyone think R3 HD and BGE HD will ever get Wii U ports.
Re: Rayman 3
I don't think so, I've never seen a HD port on a home console and a handheld console simultaneously.Rayfanboy wrote:Does anyone think R3 HD and BGE HD will ever get Wii U ports.
The problem with R3HD is that there are a bunch of textures/shadows/gameplay bugs, there is no real textures optimisation compared to the original pc R3 version, and finally the game is really too expansive for what he bring. Remember, for the same price, you have this!
Re: Rayman 3
I did hear rumours about a RRR1 port for the Wii U, now we need to wait to see if it is true.

Re: Rayman 3
Hmm, If I recall correctly, the Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii games, so there'd be little reason for Ubi to remake RRR.
But then again, the 3DS is backwards compatible with the DS and that didn't stop Ubi from making Rayman 3D.

Re: Rayman 3
I beat Rayman 3! The final boss fight with Reflux was epic and the cliffhanger ending leaves me wanting to get Hoodlum's revenge. I'll get it on emulator some time. Anyway now I'm going back and getting Murfy faces on levels. I'm not doing it for all the leves though. I'm not replaying The Longest Shortcut,Hoodlum Headquaters and the Tower of the Leptys. Those levels where just annoying. I'm just trying to improve my score a bit. So far I have done the Fairy Council. It's going to be fun replaying the levels. Especially since now I can freely explore now I know what to do in them.

Re: Rayman 3
Rayman 3 is a good game, the boss fights is very good. And I completely agree with you, The Longest Shortcut, and The Tower of the Leptys part before the boss was pretty annoying and boring. I can't really explain why. But i wish Rayman 3 had a free roaming hub like rayman revolution.Yoshidude99 wrote:I beat Rayman 3! Re: Rayman 3
For me Rayman 3 felt short at the time. I don't know why many people dislike the Longest Shortcut, it is one of the levels I like to play most.
