They say the gamepad isn't really THAT big, and it's actually pretty light, like holding a cloud in your hands.

I wish it felt as soft as a cloud

I prefer to have a little bit of weight in a controller. That's exactly why I couldn't stand the classic Wii controller.

"Threw the WII Controller into his TV screen because didn't remember he was holding it...*

As it is a tablet, i don't think u will have to move it fastly or do great movements with it, so weight is maybe less important than for WII controllers.

I concur, having a little weight in the controller helps, otherwise, it just doesn't feel right when I'm playing.

However, since this is a screen, don't you think you'd rather have something very light to hold that you can tap as opposed to something heavy that hurts your wrist because it forces you to hold it in such a way that you can tap it and still see what's happening on its screen? For all other types of controllers, especially the joystick-type, I agree completely.

I feel like the strange one, but I don't care about weight in controllers?

Why the need of weight? the gamepad is basically a regular controller, it's not too focused on the shaking thing (if you're able to play without the tv, then how are you supposed to play if you have to shake your own screen?), so there's no excuse for
RayFan9876 wrote:That's exactly why I couldn't stand the classic Wii controller.
I think the big problem with the classic controller is that it's too small and plain for the confort of your hands. You can barely hold it with your fingers. It's like a controller designed for children, and the cable that connects it to the Wii Remote is too short, making you feel weight in a place where it shouldn't be. The Wii U controller is bigger, and has the internal whatever that makes the screen work. It must feel heavier than a classic controller, but without an awkward Wii controller hanging from it.
TeensieKing wrote:I feel like the strange one, but I don't care about weight in controllers?
You're not the only one, personally I don't give a shit about how much it weighs, unless it's a heavy beast like this fat monster:

A lot of people in general were worried about the Wii U gamepad being heavy. Well, a lot of reviewers confirm that the control is pretty confortable.

I've actually played Rayman Legends, ohmygosh! I went to a convention down here in Australia (which was sad because-- well I'll probably find somewhere else to complain about it :p), and I got to try the gamepad! And yes, it does feel really nice - the group I was in we swapped between the three, so I got to try the gamepad mode and the controller mode.

Also I managed to break Rayman Legends by getting Rayman stuck dancing on some stairs, and everybody else frozen. I'm an ace at that sort of thing. Anyway, yes, the gamepad feels really nice, though I must admit I'd prefer to play Legends as Rayman. I'm a platformer fan, what can I say? The controls were fluid, and the game handled well even though it was only a demo.

As for the gamepad, as I said, it was a good weight. I liked how it did mirror the screen... if it didn't, I think it wouldn't be that good since both screens, in my home, are gonna be big and stuff... so it may not be like a DS, for example, it might be frustrating looking from one biggish screen to another. That's my one worry with it, but it was just right in my hands, and also the game was fun.

My opinion may be tainted a bit though because I waited over an hour to play it, of course I was gonna enjoy it. :p

No, I just dislike weightless controllers. It's one of the reasons I don't like the PS3 controller (but I mostly dislike it because of the stick layout and use of shapes).

They don't say the gamepad is weighless, they're basically saying that it doesn't weigh as much as it looks. (Holding a big screen with buttons looked pretty heavy to me)

She wouldn't have posted that if she didn't.

You don't really have to post all the time about pretty obvious things.

We can't tell if what she says is true, that's right, but you don't usually spend 3 paragraphs explaining a lie. And if it was a lie, what is the point of it? does she work for nintendo and makes sure everyone buys a Wii U? come on... probably what Cairnie says is a lie too, right? :|

Don't know if many saw this footage from e3. It appears to be some sort of challenge where you have a certain amount of time to defeat a CPU controlled silhouette of Rayman. You can even see the magicians hat that triggers the event. Just wanted to point this out since I didn't see anyone talking about it.

It definitely says "Michel Ancel" maybe it's a beta nickname and it has something to do with online connection?
