I checked the news portal, and it seems like it occurred on July 31st, in close proximity of PC's anniversary.
I remember there was a banner up when I first joined PC, that was celebrating this, and that was about a month later.

You should definitely combo the Matuvu. Just take it after a gem on the wooden bridge, then you can deal with the lower gems in your own way.

Indeed, and if you fail a combo, you restart, so you have to lisen the extremly boring dialogue of Murphy, this is one of the reasons I hate FC

Of course but get it for 500 is really hard.

This is worth more points than in MandM's method. Then the max score is more than 42***.

This won't sound good but DTUCC is the best player, MandM is the top player.
