Re: What games are you currently playing?
Doing some emulation for the first time! SNES emulation has been successful, because the program is so easy to use. But now I have to figure out the other emulators I'm using, 'cos they aren't as easy.
- F-Zero.
- And Earthworm Jim of course! Except I kind of suck, because I'm always playing these kind of games like some sort of freaking Sonic the Hedgehog games. I need to slow down, because now I'm all like "ASDSF I HAVE TO FINISH FAST ADFFAAFG BECAUSE BEING FAST IS COOOOL!!!!!111" and that makes me die all the time.
- Look at this library of ROMs... *drool*.

I would recommend you to play the Sega CD's Earthworm Jim: Special Edition. I think it is by far the best version of the game.
I got disappointed to know that two exclusive levels of it were scrapped on the HD remake.

Caveman Craig 2 DEMO. Ah, fun, dumb, caveman-clubbing, society-building and primitive joy.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've just been playing through the entire Halo franchise in order with my brother over the last week (Halo -> Halo 2 -> Halo 3 -> Halo 3 ODST -> Halo Reach). The crazy part is that we played through the second half of Halo 3, ODST and Reach all in one 14-hour day. We rarely spend time together, so it was awesome. Next week we'll be playing through the Halo 4 campaign for the first time. Just to note though, I have played through all the campaigns multiple times (obviously, as I'm a big Halo fan), but none very recently, and always with huge gaps. Having them all consecutive like this really makes it feel like an epic overarching narrative.
I know a lot of people may disagree with me on this, but in my opinion Halo 3 = best gameplay, Halo Reach = best story. Almost everyone I've heard state it the other way around. Halo Reach had excellent gameplay indeed, but I feel that Halo 3's was just the slightest bit more awesome, what with dual-wielding and all. One thing I totally forgot about until I just played again is the way the covenant vehicles freak out and jizz themselves after you blow them up, which they took out in Reach to my large dismay. I thought it was a very unique element of vehicular destruction. Halo 3 was just incredibly fun, the music was jaw-droppingly beautiful and epic, and they pretty much threw at you everything that could possibly be wanted in a Halo game. As for Reach, I think the story and narrative is very captivating, especially considering how depressing it actually is. Noble squad feels like a team, a group, one single but powerful entity getting picked off chunk by chunk in a futile attempt to save Reach. I really like the more dramatic turn that was taken in that game, and I hope it carries on throughout Halo 4. No spoilers please.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Little bit of a HALO-FEST going on over there? Well it's great to see you guys bond. Only time me and MY brother can do that is when we play Melee.
Recently I bought the HD remake of Sa2 off steam while on sale, and my friend had gifted me Sonic Generations for PC
I'm enjoying both.

I know, right? I love playing through the series again once in a while too.Adsolution wrote:Having them all consecutive like this really makes it feel like an epic overarching narrative.
I think the original Halo: Combat Evolved had the best story, if only because there, everything is still new. The Flood, Cortana, the whole concept around the Halo installations, it's all very mysterious and deep in that game. I'll never forget the first time I encountered the Flood. The setting of that scene was just perfect, what with all the eerie music, perfectly cued horrific sound effects and of course the young age factor (I've had the game since I can't remember when).Adsolution wrote:I know a lot of people may disagree with me on this, but in my opinion Halo 3 = best gameplay, Halo Reach = best story.
I used to love how things explode in this sequence of tiny explosions followed up by one big great kaboom as the Covenant vehicles - especially the larger ones like the Phantoms - do. Or did, rather. I'm sure you've already noticed this in Halo 4, but it's like they forgot to hire an explosions specialist. I don't want to knock it too much, especially because it's not that big of a deal, but if you're used to seeing that chain of explosions and it's just completely not there, then that's a bit disappointing.Adsolution wrote:One thing I totally forgot about until I just played again is the way the covenant vehicles freak out and jizz themselves after you blow them up, which they took out in Reach to my large dismay. Have fun in the campaign! I'm enjoying it loads so far - and I'm, at least I hope so (you never quite know when a game might suddenly end), only halfway.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Well, it was clearly explained: The covenant are an irrational culture with very weak minds; something gave itself the illusion of a higher power and told the covenant to worship the Didact, so naturally they did whatever it said without question, thinking it's for some holy cause.Skaarj wrote:i dont know about you guys but when i beated halo 4 i still got confused with a thing, why the covenants are attacking again?didnt they decided to make peace with the humans?and i dont know but it felt like somethings where missing in the game, like some classic weapons.
I personally do think it's a bit of a lame explanation, but it makes sense, I suppose. Mind you I've only just passed the third level where this is explained, so I still have the rest of the game to go.

Yo, can someone help? My Earthworm Jim 2 ROM keeps freezing at the second level. I use ZSNES and I've tested it on two computers. If the ROM is fucked up, then I need to find another one...

Re: What games are you currently playing?
If I put in side the secret level that I left for last because of the Cortex's key that I still needed to catch, I left this level for the end. I found Sunset Vista one of the trickiest levels of CB1. I mean, it isn't really difficult, the worst part is definitely after passing 75% of the level. There are some moving platforms and walls that are programmed in a crazy way just in purpose to confuse your timings and meeting death right next door. I managed to pass those by not impulsing myself by instinct and think a little after watching the pattern of movements several times.Yoshidude99 wrote:I only really find Sunset Vista hard.Haruka wrote:Just completed Crash Bandicoot at 100%: all the gems and keys. The game however did make me lose some hair threads at some points. Since stupid ways to die until facing traps I was not expecting. But its still a great classic of platforming in the PS1 story.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Just tried out the NFS: Most Wanted (2012) demo, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, maybe moreso than the original, as such, it is definitely one on my wish-list, and I do hope I'll be able to get it soon.
I just got Dishonored, I'll be trying it out soon.

I think it is ZSNES because when I played Super Mario RPG on it it froze a couple of times but I just switched it to PAL setting to get past and when that didn't work I used an older version of the emulator and it worked.GNineify wrote:Yo, can someone help? Re: What games are you currently playing?
I finished to play a while ago the Witch's House. I dislike horror games for an obvious reason but I was convinced to play this one and its interesting. Made me jumping out from the chair and making my heart accelerated at some points, I ensure you.

I'm currently creating my Rayman 2: The sack's escape game in LBP2.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I picked up Ratchet and Clank Q-Force/Full frontal assault today. And well, i didn't like it as much, sometimes i was bothered, i dunno sometimes it was like in some cutscenes and animations it wasn't all smooth. I dunno, sometimes the game feels too bright at some points and some textures are poorly made. The enemies are uninteresting and easy, even though i haven't got so far in the short campaign, the game doesn't feel like a Ratchet and Clank game. And as short i heard the game is, i don't understand why not it could be a DLC to a crack in time. As with "quest for booty" could been a DLC for Tools of Destruction, once i i completed the game fully, i will give a little review of the game. But so far on the experience it was not what i hoped for, even though since the trailer it didn't looks so much promising.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Can someone tell me which are the canon R&C games? Its only the 1-3 trilogy or there's more? Because I don't think it will be worth my interest getting the spin-offs due to the reviews.
