Re: Ubisoft stops PS3/360 developpement on 2015
I've never understood why some people get seriously upset that companies don't keep supporting outdated consoles. People complained because 3DS games didn't work on the DS, because that would obviously have been such a good marketing choice: Keep the old console running and release the same games for both so the new console is completely useless!!! god nintendo why can't you release wii u games for the wii so people can choose and add geno in smash

Microsoft doesn't support Windows 95 or XP anymore and I don't see anyone getting overly upset about that either. They don't support the original Xbox anymore and soon, the 360 will follow in its wake. It's only natural - it's time for old consoles to become old and to move on to superior machines; perhaps some select experts will remain to give tech support to vintage users without going through Microsoft, who knows. There'll always be someone who knows how to 'fix it' if you can find him.
Obviously the Microsoft analogy goes for Sony too - and all other companies, for that matter.

Considering how long PS2 lasted, I don't expect PS3 to go anytime soon.

Be that as it may, it doesn't mean third parties are obliged to continue development, indeed, there's already a divide in place with franchises like Assassins Creed, which has a special last-gen title for the PS3 and 360 this year, while only the PS4, Xbox One and PC get the hyped up new 'un.

With the exception of Okami, the PS2's continued lifespan after the release of the PS3 was really mostly made up of shovelware games.
