I've used a PSP before and if I was to get one I'd probably only use it to watch cartoons via AVI files.
Laptop wins!

My brother got loads and loads of mini DVD's for his PSP. Waste of money.

Don't know why this was revived, though I'd still go with a laptop. More expensive, though ultramobile laptops are easy to carry around and still don't take a lot of space--plus they can do so much more, whether it be Mac (MacBook Air) or PC. That's why I don't buy portable consoles anymore--just take a laptop and a USB mouse and I've got all my shooters right there.
And if I wanted to watch movies on the go, I'd take my portable DVD player. DVD's are less expensive, there is a much, much bigger selection of DVD movies, and if I wanted to watch a movie, I'd like a screen I wouldn't have to squint at.

Well, PSP is pretty fun, but I stopped using it after a year or so.

I was thinking about getting one before, though I actually kind of abandoned that idea in favor of using the money to buy a laptop with discrete graphics sometime soon. (Thinking hard about a 17" MacBook Pro right now...)

The graphics in a PSP are really good, but the DS is more fun when playing games- I got the same worms game for my DS as my brother did for his PSP, and the DS version was much more addictive, even if the water wasn't realistic.

You mean UMD, right? miniDVDs are thingies used in example GameCube.
And, I would buy IMPORTED PSP. Cheaper.

PSP + Custom Firmware = Emulators
Emulators = Win

I even have emulators on my PDA--no big deal. (And GameCube discs are based on the miniDVD format, though are actually a proprietary type of media. miniDVD-like discs are 8cm, UMDs, which are based on Sony's MiniDisc formats are 6.4cm I believe.) The DS has more games that interest me, though my laptop has Unreal Tournament and Serious Sam, as well as level editors for both, so nothing else matters to me (except getting a new laptop eventually--still looking at that 17" MacBook Pro, though it'll be quite a while).

Speaking of PSP, Why isn't Renegade Squadron for any other system? And why did no one ask about it in the several interviews?

The PSP has an N64 emulator that runs Super Mario 64 at full speed with frameskip 1.

Enough bumps for a while OK? This topic's irrelevant now.
