I'm having a hard time creating pipe to exit pipes. I look at the virtual manual with Mary-o (lol), and it says to drag Mario's sprite into the pipe to create another one but this isn't working for me. I think I might try changing the date of my wii U forward by one day until I get all the unlocks.
The pipe stuff is unlocked last if I recall, which is a rather big pain.

I'm currently drawing out some mechanics - I basically want my level to be a set of challenges that showcase different gimmicks you can incorporate into levels. Some difficult, some just funny, etc. Gonna be too busy to play the game for the next two days though.

Nah dude, you can unlock everything in like two hours. You just gotta keep using the editor, remove any ! next to a new object, and just spam loads of blocks and stuff. An order that's supposed to come the next day will show up early, and you can just repeat the process. I'm assuming the patch was automatically updated, but just make sure you have it I guess?

Though even then I think it's a useless system: If you're going to let people unlock it all in one day...why not just include a cheat code or something. They're basically encouraging people to exploit their own system now, and if you do play by their rules, some of those updates only add like 3-4 enemies and a power-up. :boon:

So a leak has gotten out. Fake or real? I don't know, but Mario 2 has a chance of making it into Mario Maker.

Most likely fake, but we can all dream I suppose

I really would love to see the SMB2 interface, myself. :D

Now here's the thing: fake until officially proven the contrary.

Yeah it can't be hard to photoshop that, but I'm almost certain Nintendo knows a DLC with essentially a whole extra chunk of the game's content makes a good deal. I'd love to have a shot at SMB2 - I'm on the side of it being an actually good title in the series, but I've always thought the level design was a little bleh.

Also hope they consider more level themes. I doubt it but I'd love to see jungle, desert, ice, night time, etc.

Like Haruka said, everything is fake until proven real. But hell, I would love to see more games and themes in Mario Maker. What I'd like to see is the amiibo costumes be usable in all the game themes. But that's not gonna happen.

I knew about this but this was very interesting showcase. Makes me more excited for this game. I must have it!

Yeah, I've seen tons of videos showcasing the costumes and their special death and victory sounds. I'm just a bit bummed out that we can only use them in the original Super Mario Bros theme. I guess if they were available for all the themes, then it would pretty much steal Mario's spotlight.

Forgot to comment on Rayfist's leak he found. I think it could maybe be used in future as DLC. Nintendo seems to be using DLC tactics lately.

Level is coming along very nicely. (fairly challenging too!) Just still waiting for the pipes.
Out of curiosity is it possible to include both an entrance and exit pipe in the same area?

Unfortunately no, but I've actually considered the level of radness behind the concept of making two identical areas so it gives the illusion that you're warping around the same place.

Is it at least possible for me to make an entrance pipe leading to another area which can loop back to the original area with another entrance pipe in that new area?

Yeah. I also believe you can make Mario use the same pipe to get back out.

Does anyone know if there's some ability to add water/lava that I haven't noticed yet? I believe you get lava if you're using the castle theme, but as far as I'm aware it doesn't seem possible to add water anywhere. I really really hope they'll add the beach theme via DLC.

My parents wouldn't even give me a 3DO. Who could blame them? I would have been raised by Plumbers don't wear ties

Nailed all of yours.

Overall, they are pretty solid levels. Once or twice, you resorted to the door that results in an instant death, which make me want to tear up the throat of the creator of the level, but it's only marginal. They aren't cheap. Kudos.
