I don't know if the Incrediballs can even be considered secondary characters – maybe tertiary
Speaking of secondary characters, we haven't heard anything about Barbara &co either I guess…

This show might be cancelled at this point, though we could be surprised.

Yeah, how many concepts reported in the Hollywood Reporter actually see the light of day? Actually, I don't read it much, so I'm not sure, but I get the feeling it's not 100%!

I wonder how much we'll have to wait in order to get an update on this. I read that BG&E2 is still happening, so I guess it's possible for this series to be in limbo for years.
I'm pretty sure it was silently cancelled a while ago and we'll never hear about it again.

BG&E2 or the series?

The series! I believe BG&E2 was recently confirmed to still be in development, even though it may take years for it to be ready for production.

This tweet is only one of a number of tweets looking at it and I am rather baffled.
https://twitter.com/FuturHebdo/status/1 ... 0962932739
This has a similar fashion to a spin off of Oggy and the Cockroaches called "
Oggy Oggy!" that's like a preschool thing only on Netflix, and I wouldn't put it past me if it's got some of the same people working on this as that. Given that the things are now called the Moldies (one of them is a mushroom I noticed) and that there's like a good side of the forest and an evil dark side, I'm gathering that it's about teaching kids about good moulds and bad moulds and Rayman's there for reasons.

That tweet was posted March 31. So too early to be April Fools.
Why. Just why.

Well, according to
this article, the series will talk about the origins of Rayman, it is speculated that it could be released by the end of this year or the beginning of 2023. I would be crazy if it is actually released in december of this year (considering that I made a joke signature about that). Also, I wonder if this series will be part of the
Intense Education timeline
.

The origins of Rayman eh? Where did you hear that?
I really hope that's not true, since they already tried to tell the story of Rayman's origins 10 years ago, and thankfully aborted the attempt to make it the subject of a game. Still, there's that story of his missing limbs due to Zombie Chickens making the Nymphs drop some Lums, even though Zombie Chickens didn't exist yet, and a few other things I probably can't think of that made their way into released material. All this to say, they should have stuck with the plan from over 20 years ago, to keep his origins shrouded in mystery. So I really hope they're not going down this road to entropy again…

I knew you jinxed it
I'd forgotten all about that timeline, thank you for reminding me!

I wonder where the new Back to School fangame will go

I speculated, in the article that Elite Piranha linked above, that the series is a prequel precisely because Rayman is clearly a child in that image, and it looks like the Moldies are protecting him.
Sort of a Yoshi's Island-like story.
For the release in late 2022 - early 2023, however, it was said by the host. A reporter friend (who I met during my stay in France many years ago) was part of the event where they showed this cartoon and other animated and live action projects.
The presenter apparently said that the series will tell a story never explored in depth in the Rayman series and will be a family-oriented cartoon primarily.

A story never explored in depth eh? Some kind of noodle incident mentioned in the games? Could be interesting, but I'm still worried that whatever territory they're exploring was previously left to our imaginations for a good reason

I think, honestly, these are pretty general statements.
So as not to go creating continuity problems (although the Rayman series already has enough, I would say) these statements have remained vague imho

I also prefer that Rayman's origins are kept a secret, I think that the shroud of mystery makes him more interesting. About the series, I wonder if any other characters from the Rayman universe will appear in it.

Aww what a cute Rayman! Wonder if he'll get into any world saving antics with the Moldies, haha.
I wonder if they went with mushrooms because of fairy rings? Or maybe I'm just looking too deep into a kids cartoon...Either way I feel strangely compelled to watch this (assuming it'll come over to the US) just to see what happens. I like the artstyle too, so at least it'll be nice to look at.
I'm not entirely sure if any other characters will show up, or what the secret plot will be, though if anyone else does show up it'd be pretty interesting to see their designs.

Well, according to one
article that talks about the event where this was presented (“L’écran d’après”), it seems that environmentalism could be one of the main themes that is going to be explored in the series.

With no news on this for like two years and a half, I really thought this project was dead. Not that I care much about a Rayman-themed kids' show, however.
