It is, don't worry ;) And you should really get an anti virus program, AVG Free is good and free.

Windows and its users fear these days... ;)

See the results for yourself: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/1072 ... 1266163228
Absolutely nothing negative reported. :)

If you're so afraid, when try to run everything in sandboxes instead. Sandboxing is the most secure way of malware protection.
I recommend: http://sandboxie.com

No Joshua, AVG is bloated these days. If you need standard malware protection, it should be Microsoft Security Essentials, and it's free too, but one of the most lightweight and best performing: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Avast is a good free one too with Malwarebytes on the side.

Microsoft Security Essentials is surely nice software for standard protection indeed. But for the best protection i wouldn't recommend it. It's virus database isn't large enough to compete with products like AVG, Avast!, Antivir, NOD32, etc...

Antivir and NOD32 come as best out of test, Avast! and AVG are also very good.

Man, how can we always get so off topic :P

Avast is less bloated than AVG and have a much better detection rate, but MSE is still a little better and completely free. And Malwarebytes is excellent for an extra deep scanning, and is a bit lightweight too, but doesn't have the best live protection. I always carry a portable version of it when I provide tech support for people.

The MSE database is large enough, and it still have a better detection rate than AVG, so it can compete. MSE have not been the only security software that Microsoft have developed. But I can agree that NOD32 is better than MSE, except for completely removal of malware pieces and leftovers, but is not free. And Antivir have the largest database, but have a bad detection rate, because it reports so many false positives.
