It's true, but it's very unprobable that I will get a PS3.

ps3 rules, thats why it gets the good stuff.
Rayman was really meant to be on sega and sony, but sega died, so sony consoles are basically the main console for rayman games.
Plus ps3 deserves this..
We got a crappy ps1 port, and then a flawed port for ps2. The framerate on the ps2 version can get choppy at times with lots of things on screen, which the dreamcast didn't suffer from. The framerate will obviously be fixed to a perfect 60 fps like the dreamcast.
Hopefully they will just take the gamecube version of arena and edit it for ps3. Gamecube had more characters and skins because it was released later.
probably they will bundle it like this: rayman revolution+ rayman 3+ rayman arena. Rayman 1 would be nice to have, but I think rayman arena would appeal more to the general public because it's 3d and like the mario kart of rayman, but on foot, while rayman 1 isn't 3d or a multiplayer game (more popularity = more $$$).

I actually did say the "tingwhore" thing first.

I have huge doubts that Arena will be included. It wasn't very popular at all and they want to give people a good impression of the franchise before they release Origins.
Although for us it would be pretty cool (online on Arena which was only possible on the pc american version using additional software before, and people hardly used that) but seriously I doubt it will be included.

You may have "invented" it independently, but you were definitely not the first.

Yeah I remember seeing the word tingwhore way back when I registered.
Anyway, I doubt the HD classics collection is something to look forward to. It's the same as playing the games on PC with a high resolution. Stretched textures and all, the models are just as low-quality, it's just all displayed in a higher resolution so it doesn't look like complete shit on HDTVs.
EDIT -> According to a quick search, Tobbe was the first to use it in 2008. Congrats Tobbe!

Yeah, I thought so too, but it seems the search doesn't find any earlier posts with that word in it.

Yes, since launch date, 60gb model. My dad got it for me and him :3
It hasn't got YLOD, or overheated and turned off once. Which makes me happy

Well apparently you haven't be up to date with your sony history.
They're gonna choose rayman arena. All the classic ps2 trilogy sets they've released so far are ps2 games only. and I don't think you get the fact that they are "PS2 CLASSICS" not "PS1 CLASSICS". They already have a "PS1 CLASSIC" re-release of the original rayman on the playstation store for 6$. And most people already own that if they wanted it. (like me lol)
Plus if they put arena on there they could take advantage of so many new things, like the online network and trophies..
Imagine playing rayman arena online with actual people playing
With the ps2 classic re-releases, they edit the whole games. After fixing up everything to make it perfect for ps3, they do other things.
For the sly series ps2 classic re relase, they added trophies, and added bonus movies and minigames that are unlockable as you progress through the game, that weren't included in the ps2 version.
Expect this treatment for Rayman 2/Rayman 3/Rayman Arena
You can't add much more to Rayman...
Rayman 2 is going to probably have fixed fps for 60fps like dreamcast does and better graphics. Rayman 3 might have some new content, maybe working versions of those scrapped characters, and maybe the scrapped bosses. And for rayman arena they might give it a nice big ol' treatment with online play and leaderboards, living up to its original name rayman multiplayer

So it means it is retrocompactible with the PS1 and PS2 games correct?

Whats your psn? My old ps3 broke so I have to start all over everything again.

Yep :3
I play rayman arena on it.
and some of my ps1 games.
But the newer ps3 models (40gb 80gb and 120gb "fat" models don't support ps2, along with the ps3 slim models)
The reason why the ps3 was 600$ at first because it litterally had a ps2 inside it. All the ps2 hardware was required for emulation, so thats why the original 20gb and 60gb models were more expensive. The newer models were 400 dollars because they took out the ps2 hardware, so now it could only emulate ps1 and play ps3 games. Then ps3 slim came out in a new 250 gigabyte model for 300 dollars, the reason why it was cheaper than the "fat" models is because it uses less plastic and materials, to cut down on size, and they changed many parts to make it more efficent and cheaper.
The current ps3 slim models can play ps1 games and ps3 games. The reason why they are making ps2 remake trilogys is because newer models like the late fat and the new slim cant play ps2.
And also, Haruka, if you want a ps3, just save. They're actually affordable now, but you just have to save. Save birthday money, If you want one really badly, just ask for money from all your relatives for the winter holiday you celebrate instead of gifts.
Oh and haruka, if you own a wii or 360, be prepared for them to be seriously negelcted once you buy a ps3..
Ps3 may not be as exciting at first, but it grows on you eventually, and you keep coming back for more. I play it more than my wii.
EDIT:
MY psn is Hand64.
Yeah I used to be a nintendo nerd but now I like sega and sony better. The ps3 grew on my over the years and wii got boring.
EDIT 2: also this might be a little off track, but you know what would be cool for rayman origins!!!

Parents who can't stand gaming are hard to convince when you have already a certain ammount of game consoles. (And we have already a Blu-Ray reader in the living room)

OH MY MOTHERFUCKING GOD! Best idea ever! It's sorta like new super mario bros where you can play as toads. Except teensies. They better have some sort of wi-fi connectivity with this game. Scores, co-op, etc...
And I'll add you on ps3

Origins' trailer gives us the clue that will exist co-op gameplay, now if it is also possible to do that online... It would be pretty interesting.

Ubisoft made a new game called "Scott pilgrim vs the world" That has co-op online
