You hit 't' on the keyboard (at least in my computer it terminates this application)
Thanks for helping out with this!
I would never have guessed something like this because I am playing the game with a PC gamepad, so I didn't even know that there is a shortcut for terminating the emulator on the keyboard...

You're very welcome!
I know this because I wanted to take a break from any gamepads, so I pressed nearly every single button to see what would happen.
Curiously, nothing would ever happen when I used the older build of said emulator, no matter what key I would hit...

Oh, and I've got a question: How do I download files from there (the SVN build)? Is there another way to do that than to download every single file?

Have you tried pressing to opposing directional keys in the final Rayman on this emulator?
It does not crash at all, even better, it makes Rayman do a strange animation which I have never seen before:

I really wonder why this happens and whether this can be done on a real Jaguar...
As others have said, that’s the animation that plays when Rayman receives a new power from Betilla. Pressing too many buttons at once or within a short space of time sometimes causes this animation to play, but crashes are also very common for me. The right and left buttons when rapidly navigating through a level are the usual culprits, though I think other button combinations can sometimes cause the same problem.

You're right, it really is the animation used when receiving a new power from Betilla.
I can't believe I did not recognize it...

No, Gong Heights seems to be unwinnable in the beta due to a missing exit sign. I wonder if there’s even any data for the later levels?

Yeah, it sure would be interesting to find some more hidden levels and stuff in that beta!
I don't think anyone has tried exploring this Rayman build any further than just by playing through the levels normally yet.

I should be able to hack my way into hidden levels (in case there are any) but it's going to take some time!
I'll let you guys know if I can find anything of interest!

I'll look into the early one level prototype too!
Who knows what things there might be hidden away deep in the game's code?

Could you guys tell us more about the differences in the beta version?

I think it would be great to have a comparison between all of the levels in the beta and their final version counterparts!
Something like that should be included on the "Rayman 1 (Early Production)" page of raywiki, if you ask me!

Well, of course I am going to post any interesting discoveries I will make when I hack into the beta but for a picture by picture comparison of all the levels I simply don't have enough time at the moment...

Perhaps somebody else (for example the people who have done those level maps on raywiki for the final Jaguar and Playstation versions of Rayman 1) could do such a thing?

Am I the only one who noticed how in the BETA everytime you revisit the level where you get to learn a new ability (shooting fist, for example), the cutscene showing Rayman obtaining it from Betilla and a short tutorial about how to use it is replayed?
Also, is it just me, or the idea of cutscenes in the same manner was later recycled in Rayman 3:HH for GBA?

I think that differences between normal Jaguar version and your typical R1 aren't documented enough to start beta research.

Honestly, knowing the differences between two styles of running, level design in later levels had to change quite a bit.
