This reminds me that I have to draw Amy at some point.

Oh shoot, a Futurama revival? I've never even seen the original! :x

Season 8, the initial revival, I thought was pretty good. Nothing special, but it felt like pretty safe but good futurama fun

I'm 2 episodes through the new season 9... this is horrible. NFT episode and Squid Game parody, they're almost unwatchable. They also try to delve emotionally into characters' backstories, but every second of the writing is so extreme and artificial, it has no impact, it's so boring... it feels like there's a bigger focus on rapid fire jokes, but nothing is even slightly clever or funny. It's seriously weird to watch from a show that's been good its entire run.

I've literally rewatched the NFT episode four times and the squid game one twice, because I'm wondering if I'm missing something, and every single time I'm so confused. These are actually some of the worst episodes of anything I've ever seen. I know it's an exaggerated thing to say now, but these legitimately 100% feel like they were written by AI. They make almost no sense, have no identifiable message, the pacing is all over the place, the jokes don't really qualify as jokes, you learn nothing about the characters...

outside of having the idea that Fry never cheats at anything suddenly shoved down our throats in the squid game episode. He won't even cheat to save Leela's life. Maybe, like maybe it could've worked if they emphasised a bit more how unforgivable that was of Fry or given him a slightly more complex moral dilemma, but they don't.

I give the NFT episode a 0/10 for being completely worthless, and the Squid Game episode a 1/10 for at least attempting to do something with a character, even though it's the worst conflict/plot the show's ever done, and it's not even close.

It's like Futurama out of nowhere adopted modern Simpsons' problems, but 10 seasons too early, and about 10 times worse. I actually enjoy modern Simpsons, I'm not that hard to please :tssk:

Tonight I'm gonna attempt to watch episode 3 and 4... which I would've done already if I didn't rewatch the first two so many times :confus:

Sadly, I think I've got to agree with you there, Season 8 felt familiar and I was ok with that since it was the first new season in a decade...but I fell off Season 9. I think I got to episode 4, but I can't remember much at this point as I fell off and stopped following since. Might try again but yeah, the spark is faded it feels.

Man to be honest, I stopped watching the new episodes at some point. I think the last episode I watched was that one where Bender was playing that Incan basketball game. It just doesn't have the same spirit it used to have anymore.

That bodes well, I was considering trying to carry on what with the new episodes, but sounds like it might not be worth it.

Still, got new Gumball, and that seems to be alright

Tbh from the reviews I’ve seen from yall for the newer seasons it would be better for me if I take my time before I bother to watch or just not at all.

Yeah it's a sad state of affairs.

Gumball is the epitome of randomness. I love it.

I suppose it was going to happen at some point, I just thought it being constantly cancelled meant it would avoid seasonal rot like the Simpsons did.

Oh yeah Gumball is literally the only good show on CN at this point, I like this one a lot.

I suppose all good things must come to an end eventually sadly.

Yeah it's better than Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents, they don't know when they have a good thing and to just end it, so they run it into the ground.

Well the good news is that the latest season of Rick and Morty was absolutely phenomenal!

I haven't seen that since like season 2, I thought it was interesting though that they changed voice actor.

The new VA is pretty good, definitely does a good impression of Roilands voice.

I'd actually not seen it. I also haven't seen South Park after like season 20 I think it was. Maybe some day I'll go look at all of these again.

Yeah I literally don't even miss Roiland. I thought this show was screwed but far from it.

At this point has there been more seasons with the new voice than Roiland?
