I guess that kind of stuff happens with a lot of activity! But I'm glad the conversation for the most part stayed close to that 1000th lum in the Tomb of the Ancients

Yeah I think you of all people should know that we all seem to go off topic at a time like today. I'm hoping things will be more organized when today ends.

I'm a bit late here, but there might actually have been 1001 lums in the game originally. Internally the game supports 95 lums in The Prison Ship, making the 1000th lum the 1001st Lum! Funny enough you can mark this 95th lum as collected, which results in the game showing you having 1000/999 lums (rather than 999/999 which it would do even with the normal 1000th lum).

I find that very unlikely, because 1001 is a very odd lum cap

Ah yes, I thought I had heard something about this! Well, I'm guessing the decision to include the bonus Lum in the Tomb was made either after or at the same time as the decision to remove the 95th one from the Ship. I really doubt there was ever actually a plan for 1001 in the game. But at least it explains how the creator of that cover might have gotten the idea, since they could have spoken to someone on the team who either got confused or didn't explain it properly!
Also, Jonster, was it intentional that this was your post count on Record Day?

It would’ve been worse if you found out you’d gotten 999
