Whilst searching for different Rayman wallpapers I came across this topic.

This interests me alot, so I'm going to try and dig. Through inspection of the messages here, I can probably just tell you this is promotional art for legends/adventures whatever. But, I'm still going to research anyways for the hell of it.

Firstly, I'm going to try to reverse search it!

(I started with Tineye, the first site that pops up when you search "reverse image search")

(Also, don't go to any of these sketchy websites. I'm only doing it because i'm bored and have nothing else to do.)

I started by using the fuller version:

Tineye found 0 results! Okay, weird. Let's try this version.

3 results to 3 websites? Okay.

I proceeded to open all 3 in seperate tabs. They're all broken and abandoned wallpaper sites that are now scam websites...

Okay, let's try another then.

It's the fuller version except.. expanded at the top? Possibly an alternate phone version? The post is in russian... so, lets translate it.

Okay, this is for Rayman Legends it seems. Cool. Atleast we know which game it's from. When also searching with Google Lens we get a scam wallpaper website that wants you to really badly install their adblock for chrome.

With also also also searching with google lens you get a website named WallpaperCave. In the top right corner there's a watermark that says ultrad.com.br. I shoved it into my search bar and it's another broken and abandoned website. But, it's full url is ultradownloads.com.br. So I went to the Wayback machine.

Now, I seem kind of crazy for obsessing over this, but it's actually a really deep rabbithole. Anyways, it's some portuguese website that allows you to download A LOT of crap. I went back to it's most popular year which was 2014, and went to the wallpapers section. This website is SUUPER dodgy. When you search Rayman into the search bar they have for the wallpapers... it hasn't been archived. I could try some other years, however I'm too lazy and probably will do it tommorrow, or whenever I feel like it

Yeah, it's actually pretty weird. I don't think I'll be able to find the origin per se, but I might get somewhat close enough. I'll try my hand at researching more later today and see what comes up!

Not even a full hour later (at the time of writing lmao), we have a new discovery.

I went back to 2016 on the wayback machine for that ultradownloads.com website and I found both wallpapers posted on it.

The author who has posted them is named vgwallpapers and when you google it, their DA pops up!

I looked at the dude's gallery and they have only 1 RL wallpaper and it's just this one:

I clicked on the post and apparently he has a broken website for wallpapers. Again. So... back to the wayback machine, I guess.

The Rayman wallpapers have not been archived. Awesome. But they have a twitter page. Let's go there.

I think I've been searching this guys page for around 10 or so minutes. No Rayman. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if some guy just took the renders from the official boxart and mashed them up into this wallpaper. I'm starting to think I may be going crazy over this.
