Nah jk, though I actually don't like Betina all that much and she would not be a good girlfriend to Rayman imo e.e

Your disgruntled comment worries me. Are you suffering from a life-threatening disease that does not include the words "Rayman," "TV," "Animated," or "Series?"

The animated series doesn’t merit capitalisation.

The animated series just seems way too out of place to be canon, but it's fun to laugh at.

Hahaha same. e.e I love it for it's wackyness, but no matter how hard this girl tries to fit it into canon it just won't go.

The only place I can really fit it into now is 20 years later when Rayman's bored because there are no bad guys, and he's actually LOOKING for something to do xD

"Old, but unforgettable"

Well the perfect candidate to be Rayman's girlfriend, it would have to be Barbara, it's easy to deduce that they have a kind of relationship, not visible but if deductible (Hopefully Rayman 4 or an animated series give us more information about this union of 2 species).

Rayman 2 tells a different story, at least if you use the ALLVIGN cheat and load enough different levels to see all the "secret" loading screens.

Why should we care about romance in a game series where its almost NEVER brought up exactly?

I will review each relationship he has according to my perspective:
- Rayman x Betilla: Rayman having a crush with Betilla sounds like having Oedipus complex... I reject this love relationship because I consider Betilla as Rayman's adoptive mother.
- Rayman x Bad Rayman: No, no! They aren't lovers, else they are enemies.
- Rayman x Ly: It's my favourite shipping and there are two Rayman 2 concept arts demonstrating this couple.
- Rayman x Betina: Bah! Betina has already got one boyfriend who is Lac-Mac.
- Rayman x Unnamed female member of Rayman's species from Rayman 4: The couple is fine , but I would do some small alterations to her.
- Rayman x Unnamed female member of Rayman's species from the PlayStation Vita version of Rayman Origins: I don't think they are a couple because the blue haired female member of Rayman's species has obsessive–compulsive disorder and I don't consider any UbiArt-made Rayman game canon.
- Rayman x Raymesis: No! They aren't lovers. I think Raymesis is not canon, like my opinion on every UbiArt-made Rayman game.
- Rayman x Any Nymph: I don't consider them a couple.
- Rayman x Barbara: I used to like this pairing, but I don't like it nowadays because it's overrated and neither in-game nor any UbiArt-made Rayman games concept art shows that.
- Rayman x Any Princess: The same opinion as with any of the nymphs.

The conclusion is that I prefer Rayman x Ly. That's why I have a drawing depicting Rayman with a rose while thinking romantically on Ly, even I drew a drawing about what would Rayman and Ly's children be like. If someone has opinions other than mine, I will respect the opinion.

To me, rayman has 0 ships and doesnt need one

The only one that makes any sense to me is Rayman and Ly. I've heard the Rayman and Betilla one many times though.

Well, great! Changing the subject, I had created two topics: one of them is where I post my Rayman-related fanarts and the other is about to discuss about Rayman 2's Alternative Ending. Sadly, nobody has replied none of the topics that I had created.

I'm planning to reply to the alternate ending one in the coming days. I need to gather my thoughts...

Since it wasn't posted anywhere, allow me to share this cursed official image made for Rayman 2, featured in an Edge magazine as part of the "Rayman in abstract art" lineup. (There is some other, nicer looking previously unseen artwork in there too, so be sure to check it out.)



You can kinda see why it wasn't posted online among the other Rayman abstract artworks.

This one was based on The Kiss, by Gustav Klimt.
Be sure to keep that in mind while you analyze the image and draw the wildest conclusions.

I had an interesting read through a lot of that, all of that stuff that's ancient now was state of the art at the time. There's some nice artwork from Rayman 2 and other games. Also some interesting facts about the Dreamcast in there, and also those prototype PlayStation logos.

As for that image, it's so weird.

Oh gosh, guess they really wanted to push forward Rayman x Ly. Not that I mind.
But anyways what an interesting image of Rayman and Ly sharing an embrace! I do have at least 1 other conclusion in mind, but I'm gonna go with a more normal conclusion.

Looking at the other images in the link to the magazine I have slightly mixed feelings about these images (like the image of Rayman's nose melting, wow! )

Interestingly it also mentioned that the Dreamcast version wasn't expected to look much different from the PC version due to time constraints.
