Right now I just don't feel like making this a game, but rather a small animated movie or a comic... thinking about it, it's more likely to not become a game. I should focus more on studying on animation for now.
Oh well, keep studying your animation skills. I'm currently doing the same thing!

I'm back on action, mostly on the storytelling. Thanks, tablet! I've made up all kinds of small bits that will be used to build the whole story and there will be lots of artwork here.

So, I've created a Wikia for my project!

Here's the page that will always be updated when new plot points are made up (Warning: Spoilers obviously!). Now it's pretty much just a mess of what I've thought up, but it's getting built and built as time goes. By the way, don't look at the character pages or anything else yet, because their information is horribly outdated and they need to be updated to the current day. Tell me what do you think. I can also make a page that you can all edit and put your thoughts on it.

You're a talented artist which I believe is a needed property when making something like this. Also, feedback is very important to recieve, so keep it up. Looking forward to the final product!

ALL RIGHTY BITCHES.

So I finally got my lazy ass up to work again. BUT, this is NOT going to become a game. That idea has been discarded completely, because I think a comic is a much better idea. Originally I believed too much about myself making a game, but now I've realized that it just feels like complete attention seeking. This does not mean I'm never trying anything new, just that I've lost my interest in developing a game. I'm nowadays more into the animation and comic industry. A comic with perhaps some animated panels would be fun to do, maybe 1 - 3 pages per week. I've designed the story and characters for so long now that I don't want to throw it all away, therefore achieving nothing. The first post in this topic will be remade, so do look forward for more information.

Hm, well good thing for pursuing your interests, I'm very interested in how this comic will turn out. What mood will you generally be going for?

I'm pretty sure this is a really simple question but for some reason I don't exactly understand what you mean...

And some updates: The comic comes in issues (Not like real printed comic books, a digital issue.) of about 25 pages. I thought that I should finish all the pages first before revealing them. I'll see if I can finish one issue in about two months, but hopefully no one minds too much if sometimes making them takes a little longer. Here are my plans for the first issue:
RAYMAN (working title, probably I'll simply keep it as this one) #1
SUMMARY: What's with the huge rivalry between Mr. Dark's Army and the Hoodlums? Is it because they both have the same goal of putting Rayman down? Rayman learns that Mr. Dark and his army are still alive and now hiding somewhere and it is his duty to defeat the evilness! It is the start of an epic adventure.
PLOT DETAILS (Spoilers!):
  • - MDA (short for Mr. Dark's Army) has a ridiculous law claiming that only these dark creatures that are associated with MDA are allowed to kill Rayman. Because the Hoodlums weren't part of it, Mr. Dark is now punishing the ones who survived the explosion of the Hoodlum HQ, including AndrĂ©, who was revived by Toots.
    - The MDA is located in a cave, where they have lived for years. Rayman, alongside with his friends, has to find them.
    - Meanwhile, André is put on a humiliating job on this cave as a cook, but he can't even cook, so he is put to jail instead where he meets some of the surviving Hoodlums.
    - None in the army is intelligent, except for a few certain guys, who will appear later. Mr. Dark himself is considered the most intelligent of them all, and even wonders about their silly law a little.
This issue is going to require some character design that I will reveal later.

I mean, the atmosphere and whatnot of the comic; are you generally going for something wacky, something dramatic, or?

Considering what we have been seeing until now, I would say wackier than dramatic (my personal opinion).

A french fan made a comic about Rayman too on this forum. I will edit my post soon with the link of the ropic concerned. Unfortunately the comic is only in French :^(...

This will be a comedical action adventure at most parts. To me, comedies also need the sad and serious moments, because otherwise it would become utterly boring. But there is one thing that may happen quite a lot and that's nightmare fuel. This is not going to be a horror story though, but can have a lot of elements, given that this is a fantasy universe, where anything can happen. For example, I've designed some pretty hideous-looking monsters and places. However, there will be no overly graphic violence or gore.
I can't say anything on the comedy yet, but sometimes there can be a little crude humor there and here, because that's GN for ya. Pretty much similar to the humor of Rayman 3. And definitely no wacky random cheese pie humor blah blah blah... I could go on and on on the content, but I'm getting tired.
Ahem, maybe I shouldn't babble so much. I'll put these in a some sort of order...
  • 1. Serious Action & Adventure, about 40 %
    2. Comedy, about 30 %
    3. Creepy stuff, about 20 %
    4. Tear jerkers/heartwarming moments, about 10 %
It's too early to exactly say how much of everything, but this is my prediction.

I could not have hoped for a better balance of percentages.
