Just encountered a rare glitch of Rayman By His Fans in DOSBox. On a whim I was playing through a random level (I think Picture level 7), and when the photographer took Rayman's photo - the sprite disappeared, and the game froze completely.

Well, it most likely was a cosmic ray. These things happen more often than you might think!

I knew I’d heard about cosmic rays somewhere, but random stuff in outer space causing Linux to lag still sounds ridiculous

SEE/SEU are a known phenomenon. It's not usually something that tends to cause much issues on the surface, but it has caused interesting things to happen in the past for speedruns for example.

And reiterate that Rayman disappearing at the checkpoint could easily be the result of a cosmic-ray-induced bit-flip!

Yeah, I have it on my DS but haven’t played it for a while

Well as of yesterday I can now add Rayman Origins for Wii on my list of games played! But I still need to finish it first
