And yet, that's probably the best thing about the game.

It's funny how we were talking about how Rayman was spelt wrong in the Russian version, but not thinking about "Sunshine of Trip".

We're going to go with one relating to the recent ordeal with the cabin boys and space pirates. I'm interested to hear the opinions of others on the matter, but no flaming of course.

I personally don't find them racist myself, but there was a lot of speculation on Twitter lately where people really looked into it very heavily. It turns out that the character was originally brown in the Japanese version, but they were then changed to be blue in order to avoid racism.

A few people looked into it a lot after hearing this, and they started comparing the brown character to an actual racist one for some reason. In my opinion, that's a bit of a stretch since the character is actually blue, and had already been altered to avoid racism. I basically think they looked way too far into it in order to try find an issue that wasn't really there.

This isn't to flame anyone though, it's basically just my opinion on the matter.

I think you’d have to look pretty deep to determine if this was racist or not. Until it was brought up on Twitter, I didn’t think these could be considered racist.

Yeah, maybe there is that slight racist element if you look extremely deeply into, which not many people are really going to do, they're just going to see blue characters and think nothing of it.

Well I missed the poll (again ) but like I said in the Redemption thread, it's quite a ridiculous debate. The character is blue, who's it supposed to be racist against? Smurfs?

Same here as with Hunch. I missed this poll myself, and after seeing the question with the results, I think it’s pretty obvious that it’s not racist, I would’ve went for the second option myself.

They are Cartoonish, definitely.

I wonder if the Space Mama fight will be ruined for me the next time I play Rayman. Not that I think it's racist, just this controversy makes me sad.

Thank goodness i downloaded the patch for Redemption!

I haven't done that yet. Not sure if my next playthrough will be Redemption or good old-fashioned Rayman.

Yeah, no offense to Rye, but I despise the new sprites, they don't look at all cartoonish. I think a small change would have been better than completely revamping the face

The original guy who made a fuss did say "or recolour". But then as OCG pointed out, the sprite had already been recoloured once.

There might be that ever so slightly racist trait if you really look into it and somehow know the reference, but nobody was going to know that, especially since the character is blue.
