I don't recall it being overly hard. Long
ish, yes, but with enough variety to keep it from being boring, and each level is short enough.
What's Torture (with a a capital T) is Hooldums' Revenge, and that's because of the engine's flaws and limitations.

I like Rayman 3 gba and Hoodlums revenge myself (to a point with the latter), though I don’t think R3 is that hard compared to hoodlums revenge.

I only played RRR GBA once. I’ll play it again and see what opinion I get from it.
As for R3 GBA, I didn’t mind the lives system, but I agree there were certain stages I just didn’t like, mainly the shoe kart and sssssam levels.

I really need to just put 2 AA batteries into my GBA, or else set up my GameCube and use the Game Boy Player, and actually complete those Rayman GBC/GBA games.

Hah, I remember the days when I used to use the Game Boy Player as a kid a lot. I hated the eerie noise that sounded when I ejected the cartridge without turning off the Gamecube first though.
I think if I replayed Rayman 1, the places I'd have the most trouble would be:
Bongo Hills phase 4
Allegro Presto phase 3
Eraser Plains phase 1
Space Mamas Crater phase 3
Space Mama
Eat at Joe's phase 6

There was an option to switch carts, but I use GBI since it syncs to the correct slightly lower framerate of the Game Boy (59.72Hz iirc) and this means it doesn't have any frameskip. In GBI, I have to just hold reset while changing the cart instead, which is fairly simple.

I definitely preferred Rayman 3 on Game Boy Advance over Hoodlums' Revenge, mostly because of the gameplay, like we discussed
here.

The Ubisoft forward takes place in just under an hour, but I can't say I have high expectations for Rayman to have an announcement. I would like to remain hopeful though.

My expectations are minimal, but my hopes will remain though. Even if it's not this year, someday a new Rayman game will come out.

There was no news as expected, but there will be another forward later this year. I'm not expecting anything unless Ancel has others working on something behind the scenes, since he even said himself he was working on BG&E2.

I think well get bg&e2 news before rayman at this point

Yeah, since games can't create themselves, it's not like a game can come out if Ancel isn't working on it. I know he had others work on Rayman 3, but I'm sure if others were working on anything we'd have heard it by now.
Either way, some of the games in the forward looked pretty interesting to me, even the new Watch Dogs for example.

I feel for all the people who tried to hope during this forward. This is why I think it's better to not have a lot, if any expectations at all regarding Rayman. It hurts less.
I'll always remain hopeful about Rayman even years from now.

They have started a trend on Twitter #BringRaymanBack. I wonder how far this will go.

Hopefully, enough that Ubisoft hears our voices!
