Who have? This is ridiculous, everybody should know that Michel is working on BG&E2 – Rayman must wait, to coin a phrase.
Also, the fact that I've almost completely lost interest in the aforementioned BG&E2 doesn't give me confidence that any new Rayman development would interest me, or the rest of us…

While you can't force a game developer to publish a new game just by trending something like this, it will at least show them how many people are interested in seeing a new Rayman game at some stage. It should be enough to show that a lot of people still care about Rayman.
I did also mention the fact that BG&E2 is still being worked on, and unless another team take over like with Rayman 3, we're certainly in for a long wait.

Id be happy as long as its a real game, no mobile app no old port
Maybe let Ubisoft Paris make another game, since they did rayman 3 iirc

Like I've said so many times before, I can wait a long time for a new Rayman game. I do wish they would say SOMETHING about BG&E 2 though....

Rayman 3 was a nice game really, so in a way it wouldn't be out of the question to have another team work on the next game again. I would prefer it in a way if Ancel was involved, but it could take a while.

There is also that Rayman animated series that is being made for Netflix, hopefully we'll get an update before the year ends.

i dont think its too out of the question for them to make a game without much of ancels involvement. maybe not necessarily rayman 4 but Something. i dont know what though. a rayman m/arena sequel? another ubiart mainline (though id love it i know everyonell get pissed)? i dunno

That's only "Rayman-inspired" though, isn't it? I don't think Rayman will appear in it...
Anyway, I've realized that part of the reason these kinds of campaigns make me so grumpy is that, deep down, I guess I don't really want to see any more official material from the Rayman franchise. I know, shame on me, being an admin of one of the longest-running Rayman communities and all. Problem is, every new piece of official material brings its own pile of inconsistencies, with the latest games even being considered "non-canon" by large chunks of the fan base. I don't know if I can take the cognitive strain of yet another new game and its mad deviations from what's been established before.

Nothing says they can't scrap that timeline and go back to the likes of the Rayman 2 story, after all, Razorbeard never did die. Saying that, I was always fine with the UbiArt titles. Sure they're inconsistent and it's really hard to make anything canonical, but so were the first three games. All they really had to make anything canonical was some Easter Eggs for the most part.

Indeed they could go back to the Rayman 2 story, but something tells me that if they tried, they'd find some way to mess up the continuity there too. I mean, Origins was "supposed" to go back and tie all the previous games together, but instead it left us all scratching our heads.
I wonder if the franchise is reaching a stage of maturity now whereby someone who played the original trilogy in their youth (I won't quite say childhood) could have been hired by a Ubisoft studio, and could now be in a position to lead a team. That would be an interesting hypothetical team to put in charge of a hypothetical Rayman sequel, in light of the current discussion…

I guess in a way, they could have a really good concept relating to Rayman 2, but then they'd probably scrap it and just show us how good the game could have been.
There was some interesting things scrapped from Legends even, like Dracula's Castle, and also the fact that it was going to have "Rubi" for challenges.

While it's true that Rayman 2 and 3 brought their share of inconsistencies, I think it's negligible compared that what the UbiArt games did, hence my belonging to the said chunks of the fan base.
If a hypothetical Rayman 4 were to build up on the main trilogy, and nothing else, there would definitely be potential for something more or less consistent. Whether they would go that way or fuck it all up like in Rayman Origins, nobody knows.

Let's face it, people who work on Rayman games don't like consistency – just look at all the complaints RayCarrot has about how they programmed and used the first game's engine!

It just became like classic Mario; you run, jump, and save people. This is all the lore it needs now it seems.

Sorry to bring up a previous topic, but I found out that Nitro Rad mentioned the "Rayman reference" in the Ski Slope level from Tonic Trouble (min. 6:16):
I guess to some people it really looks like Rayman.

All characters in the game are limbless, it could be any of them, really.

I feel like Ubi are failing to deliver on their communication commitments. Which I totally understand btw, given how pressurizing such commitments can be…
