Allegro Presto is fucking hard when you don't have the hover power.Slogbait wrote:I only found it horribly difficult the first couple of times I played it because I was so young at the time and couldn't even get to Moskito, much less get past Bongo Hills. Now the only times I find I have a lot of problems are in Allegro Presto where all the tiny, slippery platforms are, and the last section of Eat At Joe's because my copy won't let you hit the saber-tooth sharks. It really stresses me out when I get to those parts. Otherwise, I've played the game enough times that I have no trouble getting through the rest of it. I've only played the PSX, version though.

Re: Rayman 1
It is hard for people who don't master the edge-grabbing ability, which it was what Ubisoft intended players to react in that level.

Re: Rayman 1
I stumbled over DosPad. This programm is just like DOSBox but only for iDevices. I will try to get Rayman 1 for my iPhone to work. But DOSPad requires jailbreak

Re: Rayman 1
I experimented the aspect beehavior of all Rayman 1 Games for PC with turned on aspect in DOSBox. On Frequence 70Hz (the parameter freq70 needed to be added in the batch) the game turns into 4:3/16:12 aspect. 60Hz turns into 8:5/16:10 and 50Hz turns into 16:9.

Re: Rayman 1
That's strange... why would the screen refresh rate alter the display resolution? Seems like a bug...

That would be awsome. But the article is from 2010. Anyone knows what's going on to this project?

Re: Rayman 1
That actually turned out to be the iOS version of Rayman 2.
Re: Rayman 1
Well, you know that UbiSoft must port Rayman 2 on every system ever made including Toaster. The only way to play Rayman 1 on iOS would be by downloading either GBA or PS1 Emulator. I recommand GBA Emulator since PS1 Emulator is really slow on iOS. However Android users are lucky.

Re: Rayman 1
That's exactly what I am trying to archive. However I need a Jailbreak to get emulators and since I dumbass updated my iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4 I must wait until iOS 7 is released.
Re: Rayman 1
Pity the R2 didn't make to Android either...
Re: Rayman 1
I would love to play Rayman 2 on XPERIA Play.

Re: Rayman 1
I managed to purchase Rayman 1 for DSi today, and trying out a little. I've played only the Pink Plant Woods level but these are the differences I've noticed so far:
- You can insert up to 4 letters in the file name
- You start with 30 continues
- The intro is relatively similar to Rayman Advance's one
- The music tracks are swapped for some reason, I just listened the Picture City music in the Magician's challenge oO
- You start with 6 health points
- When you catch the "P", your health points increase to 10
- The cage locations seem to be from the PC version
- Most of the sounds seem to be taken from the PC version, while a minority is simply sounding wierdly different
- You have achievements in the game, but they are easy if you can beat the game without spending a continue
- When you take a photo in a Photographer checkpoint, the word "SMILE!" appears and your DSi/DSi XL/3DS/3DS XL will take you a real picture of your face
- In the touch screen, you have a sepia coloured map of the level part you're playing, with the locations of Rayman, the exit sign and the Photographer checkpoints. You can scroll around the map with the stylus
