What are you talking about? The main plot between André and Reflux shows up half way through the fifth level, which is exactly half way through the game.

If you want to stick to that story, you could assume his spirit somehow found true form in the mortal world again after the events of Rayman GBC, probably after the events of Origins, even, which might explain why he hasn't appeared ever since the ending of the handheld console game.
I think I'll stick with leaving it out of the canon.
:P
I was only speculating. I love to speculate. Notice my careful choice of words (highlighted).

Exactly. The villain escapes, searches for someone he knows will be his ally and convinces him to join his side and be his instrument of complete world domination. I like the depth of that part of the story and for me it even compensates for the first half, which, in the game, works and is fun, but lacks story-wise.

I actually enjoyed the (loose) story of the first half quite a bit. It allowed a lot of miniature subplots to seem more memorable, such as Razoff and Beagonix or the tower in the Land of the Livid Dead. You know it's leading up to something, you just aren't sure what at first until it hits you at the half-way point, and that half-way point is a very exciting twist indeed.

I agree with Bingham, Rayman 3's story is actually really good if you think about it. At first I didn't like it but now I think it's okay.

It's okay but can't be compared with Rayman 2's because that one's just a masterpiece.

Since when was 'you must find the four sacred masks that are located in the sanctuaries of cliché elements' a masterpiece story? ;)

What you shown was not story, it was an objective. What was great in R2 was that the world shown you the mood of story of itself, then there were the characters (I'll always remember the first time I entered the Sanctuary of Ice and Water), then there was the supplementary text, and then - right, then - there was the "collect 4 masks" thing.

You should know I also find Rayman 2 to have the best plot of the quadrilogy, by far from Origins.

It isn't the masks fact, it is the fact of the large intergalatical army that for close it would have erradicated the entire planet of the Glade of Dreams. Mr. Dark didn't have that privilege.

Since it had tons of subplots that connected all the levels perfectly, matching perfectly their atmosphere and creating an immersive magical, mystic feeling. Enough for you?

I agree with this. I don't thin any of the Rayman games have had a great 'story,' though Rayman 2's did feel like the most important with the highest stakes out of all of them. The game itself is considerably a masterpiece, but just as a story? No, certainly not.

All Rayman Games don't have well-complicated stories, and it's not the aim of those games...I agree with RayFan about R3 first half's story, but as i passed through the next worlds, I found the plot really empty in that part (especially with SBTC : WTF are they doing here even if they followed Andre and Reflux's path to the HH?). Maybe because Reflux is a too "telescoped" villain (french translation but i didn't find such another appropriated word).

R2's plot is okay because many worlds have their own story. But it's still a too easy plot...and don't talk about R1. I don't play Rayman Games for their plots seriously :tssk:. If you want real plots, go paly non-linear stories like TW2 or some others...

Yeah, I don't know why the Summit Beyond the Clouds existed, unless it was just a bridge level used to travel from one point to the next. It seemed to have no story relevance, but hey, at least it had a beautiful atmosphere. That more than makes up for it in my opinion.

From the viewpoint of story relevance, the Longest Shortcut baffles me more than the Summit. I personally think they wanted to make it longer, they failed, and they left it as is. And that was one good decision - R2 didn't have winter level after all.

The Summit Beyond the Clouds is my favourite level in Rayman 3, it certainly feels the most "wintry" of any locale from the series, and the music, and the atmosphere...

Agree with this. I've never found the plots in the Rayman series to be rather spectacular or unique. Though that hasn't been needed before. The simplicity have worked out fine.

I think the Summit is there because the Hoodlum Headquarters is built inside a dormant volcano. Getting into a volcano in an adventure game is nothing without scaling the mountain outside first, don't you think?

It also seems to hearken back to the "Hansel and Gretel" theme first used for Candy Château.

I wonder what other worlds will be in Rayman Legends, so far only three have be revealed. Maybe there could be a whole Rayman-Themed world were it goes back in to and harkens to environments from the previous games. It wouldn't be all bad. :P

This (fucking crazy) guy finally uncovers what's behind the painting "Collection of Heroes", and yes, it's the place where you choose your character. As I suspected, instead of jumping inside of floating bubbles, you choose your character by entering their respective paintings. Characters that aren't unlocked yet will remain with a question mark "?". Michael Micholic once confirmed that Lums would be used as currency to unlock "bonuses", so I'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with this.

I like the paintings, they're simplistic, vibrant and colourful. However, seeing that they don't have some sort of info or at least a name in the lower area worries me. Will the real name of "Female Teensy" remain as a mystery? :(

I like the way this is looking, especially with that slightly more in-depth look at the Wii U controller. It looks quite comfortable.
