Finished the Mr. Sax Hullaballoo. And the differences I've spotted so far are the following:
- The music staffs are black instead of blue
- The background with the valleys and the musical instruments is dark for some reason
- You can access the 4 life statues without doing the "impossible jump" in Allegro Presto thanks to a moving cloud

So they just made it less colorful and less fun

Pretty much sums up Rayman DSI- if you're looking for the BEST portable Rayman 1 experience get it on PSN so if you own a PSP, PSPGO, Or PSVita you can experience the best version on the go.

They made the GBA and DSi versions of Rayman 1 too easy in my opinion. They don't give you any challenge.

Like I said, undoubtedly go with the PSN version- best experience since it has the challenge of the PS1 version. It looks quite good on the vita as well

Shame with North America's huge lack of PSone classics on the Vita.

Well, for 4,99€ you can purchase a digital download through PSN and experiencing the best Rayman 1 version available. Sadly the DSi version costs 7,99€ for odd reasons, and they never changed this price. I found it expensive, especially after noticing some of the flaws of this version.

Is there a difference between Rayman 1 from PSN and the original Rayman 1 for PSX ?

They are the same, except one is digital downloaded, the other is bought in retail (well, used).

:/ i thought the graphics were increased but if that's not the case i wouldn't buy Rayman 1 from the psn store if I already own the PSX Disc here.

Hm, I think the PS3 can use a visual filter so that the pixellation is less apparent, but it can do that for both physical and digital PS1 games, so unless you've lost the disc, you're not missing out on anything.

It's the exact same. But give it a try, just whatever you do, don't choose the 'full screen option'
it looks bad, stretching the screen aspect of an old game. Just keep it at the simple ratio aspect, and it should be fine

If you're talking about playing it on PS3 then I reccomend you don't.
It looks good on a PSP and Vita screen, but ps3 it looks not too good considering you're playing on a big screen, game looks much better when playing on a small screen. But you can use the disc in ps3, and it'll work.
PSP/VITA versions are just a good version to get if you want to experience Rayman on the go... like lets say... how about on an airplane? In the mood for some Rayman? There you go, it's still convenient. The vita is a fine handheld for classics, movies, etc. PS1 classics here in North America sucks though, you Europeans got so many good games on the ps1 classics section, lucky D:

Hmm. too bad.. i have a big tv screen (about 50"). It depence on the person if one likes keeping aspect or stretch. I personally like to stretch. I don't have a PSP or Vita and I'm looking to buy one.

If you're looking for a good ps1 experience on the go, I HIGHLY recommend you get a PSP, Sony SUCKS at globalizing their content, leaving so many good ps1 classics excluded from the Vita, however, if you're looking for good NEW titles, go for a Vita.
I've been waiting since the Vita came out for Crash and Spyro, nothing there, even though it's on the PSP store, which makes no sense.

I don't know.. as a handheld I would stay with a Nintendo 3DS.

3ds is better in my opinion, I still think PSP was quite a good handheld, ESPECIALLY with PS1 classics.

And it's capabilities when modded are of great use, I could record game footage off my PSP as a result of it.

I want 3DS to be modded. I want Region Free option and RemoteJoy-like program for 3DS.
