Well, if X stands for the amount of possibilities, the probability to find the pass after x tries (x < X) is 1/(X-x)... Of course, if the guy does not use two times the same pass, if he did so, the probability to find it would always be 1/X.

Don't forget that the password could contain symbols like @ or ~.

It's true. I got the highest grade in English, average in Science but I SUCK at Maths.
