Yes, she is supposed to be Betilla, I had the idea that maybe she was Rayman's first crush. Not used to seeing Rayman with blue eyes .

Well, I guess that depends on the version of the story. If we're talking about the version where Rayman was found as a baby below a palm tree, and then Betilla took him and treated as his son, then I guess my drawing is a bit inappropriate. However, there is the other version where Rayman was kind of invoked by the nymphs and something went wrong that led to him behaving in a not proper manner (like seen in one of the Origins trailers) and not being the hero he was supposed to be.

I think I didn't consider the implications of that drawing when I was doing it .

I meant the version from the Origins trailer. I guess since the first thing he does is use his helicopter hair to lift up her skirt, you might have a point! But anyway, where did that story about her treating him as a son after he was found under a palm tree come from? Is it a headcanon? IIRC the Rayman 2 manual only mentioned Mister Dark, not Betilla…

Well, it is partially headcanon, the manual says that he was found by fishermen in the shade of a palm tree and that beings from different places gathered to witness this discovery. I assume Betilla was among these beings.

All we know of him comes from the fishermen on the Sea of Lums. After a particularly stormy night they found him sleeping peacefully in the shade of a palm tree. Frightened by this strange creature from the sea, they called on the people of the forest, the skies and the waters for help. And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the next, came tumbling over the violet sand dunes.

This is open to interpretation.
