There was a lot of BONKing going on as far as I know. I'm not sure because back then I used to stay out of the Off Topic section because things moved too fast and there was plenty of activity up here in the Members Forum. And in the French forums.

The standard of posting was a lot worse back in those days though...

Hmm if that's the case I'd say 2018 was the probably last chance to break the record with the chaotic spamming back then.

2019 and today feel like part of a new era of RD where people don't resort to spam and what not and actually have conversations and thus we shouldn't be comparing these scores to those past scores.

Great, so Steo broke another phone with a pyramid quote.

I sometimes get that error message too, though it seems to happen intermittently.

I actually got a couple of those "General Failure" screens when I was trying to beat my record last night.

I had that once, and it resulted in a double post, which I deleted one of. I do think the site has been loading a little slow, but it's been like that for me for the past while.

It's true that the previous record was achieved through a fair bunch of spam, making the comparison quite ineffective. With higher posting standards and way fewer members, there's no way we'll ever reach it again.
