Great! I'm downloading it now.

Be absolutely sure to read the readme inside the "RaymanROTD-StressTest" folder! If you don't, then it will not work. One of the things you need is a username and password to run the stresstest, and to get it, follow the instructions in the readme.
Just so you don't lose your heads: You don't play as Rayman in this, you are only controlling a first-person camera that you can observe the small area with. It controls like an FPS. The main purpose of this is to 1) test your performance, and 2) observe the ambient environment. However, there are two ways in which you can escape the ruins' boundaries and wonder aimlessly through the forest that is only there for background purposes, but I won't tell you how.
I've stripped the game completely down to only what you see in the area and I've packed all the files, so don't think you get to let your hands on some nifty assets. To be honest though, the most you'll be able to sneak out are some low-poly tree models with 3D Ripper DX; I don't even know if that programme works in CryEngine3.
Unless you have a decent computer, this won't run too well. Fortunately I've included three graphics settings you can switch between (low, medium, high (default is on high)), but that won't save you if you don't have a decent computer.
Whatever little there is to explore, that is.TeensieKing wrote:Downloading^^ I'm willing to explore everything!
No idea.RayFan9876 wrote:What voice did you have in mind?Rsandee wrote:If you need another voice actor, I could help.
It's the least I can do.
Rayman fan2000, this is 250 MB compressed, 450 uncompressed. Did you know that 450 MB costs one penny? Did you know that if your laptop (assuming it doesn't use a solid state drive) is worrying about 450 MB of space, then it's probably so old that trying anything to do with ROTD is completely pointless? Ah well....Rayman fan2000 wrote:I wanna save my laptop space for the day a demo comes out.
Sure, that could please my soul.Rsandee wrote:No idea.RayFan9876 wrote:What voice did you have in mind?Rsandee wrote:If you need another voice actor, I could help.

I could say a couple of test lines and upload it here.
It's not worrying, it's just I already have too many games and I don't have fun without them.RayFan9876 wrote:Rayman fan2000, this is 250 MB compressed, 450 uncompressed. you're not missing THAT much though XDRayfist wrote:Ah, crap I still dont have my new computer yet, I thought you were gonna let me test that area early, ah well guess I gotta wait. :p
2) Inside the "RaymanROTD-StressTest folder, there is a file named
"Autoexec.cfg." Open it with notepad, and you will see a place
to enter your resolution. Do so to be rewarded with the
greatest experience possible with the Rayman: Revenge of the
Dark stresstest on your computer running Windows 7. If you
are running Windows XP, this will work, but for the love of
god, upgrade your system so you aren't using an ancient
decade-old programme; if it's because your computer can't
run Se7en, then don't think for one second you can run
Revenge of the Dark. If you are running Vista, it will work,
but there's no reason to have Vista when you can have
Windows 7. If you're reading this on a Mac, you're an
idiot.
I couldn't help but laugh on every single line I read in that file.5) When promted to enter a username and password and you don't
have one to enter, either email [email protected] with a
subject entitled "Rayman ROTD credentials," or get off my
planet. :>
Aha, I can't help myself.Rsandee wrote:You make the same little ''jokes'' as I do. :')
Rats, that sucks! If it helps, try running it in wireframe mode by pressing "~" to open the console, then type "r_wireframe=1." If you can see anything, then that's a good sign, it just means that the shaders aren't loading correctly (although all you'll really get is a nice mess of meshes for a view, but at least you can see something). If it works but still lags, type "e_vegetation=0" to remove all the trees, so you don't get that black mash of mesh all around the area you're in.Rsandee wrote:Btw, my screen was just filled with blackness, I could however see your little menu, and I saw your beautiful logo when I hit the escape button.
My FPS was like 2-4 all the time, because I ran it on my shitty laptop from 2009. :/
