And because of that, loading times shouldn't be fixed? I don't follow you.

His reasoning is that Origins makes sense in 2D if it precedes Rayman 1, since Rayman 1 is also in 2D. Now that Origins comes after R3, which was in 3D, it makes no sense, because it's as if Rayman had stepped into the world of 3D and collapsed back into the 2D world. Whether I agree or not is another matter, but this is what I make of it.

Not at the cost of noticeably hindering graphical improvement.

Like it was that easy.

It doesn't have to be at the "cost" of anything. It should just be a main focus, that's all.

We're not saying better graphics should be forgotten, they're just not the main focus of a good gaming console. I'm kinda worried about the audience that all of the consoles are trying to reach now. In one hand, we have WiiU trying to be appealing to the hardcore audience, something that they haven't truly tried since.. Uh... I don't know, Super Nintendo? Well, that, with a console that offers something new to loyal nintendo gamers, but something 5 years old for an Xbox 360/ PS3 player (ignoring the memory and the TV improvements). In the other hand we have have Microsoft and PS3, surprised about how Wii games like Wii Sports sell a lot, and trying to attract the casual audience with not so precise gimmicks like kinect, ps move, the smartglass and that god awful harry potter magic book thing. It's like they're trying to switch places just to get more money. Although I'm pretty meh with other consoles than nintendo, I confess it would be pretty awful if they tried to go "the Wii way", with motion controllers, forced casual games and stuff.

Nintendo was as 'hardcore' as it got though before the Xbox came around.

Well, not really. Rayman always existed in a 3D world, as evidenced simply by scrolling backgrounds in R1, among other things. Being in 2D or 3D is just the way that the environment happens to be artistically represented in the game. The designers wanted to do 2D, so they did 2D.

It's sad how the conception of hardcore gaming has changed from "challenging and deep experience" to "fps, killing dragons with magic and fat kids swearing online". I even had to discuss with a friend about the Rayman series being hardcore. His conclusion was "Well... It's casual-core I guess...".

What i meant was it was; it originally meant to be based before rayman 1 when the series was still 2D so now they have milked the 2D aspect instead of making another 3D game :? Don't get me wrong i love 2D games as much as the next guy but it better keep the consistency
Shrooblord summed it up :)

In my opinion they are milking nothing. Actually, 3D games are more milkable me thinks. And now Rayman has 2 2D platformers and 2 3D platformers, so it kinda is more balances. I'd have chosen 3D for Legends but I think a 3D game with the characters of Legends wouldn't have been very good. I'd rather have a more R2/3-ish 3D game.

I know what you mean there is something about 2D games that is very enticing possibly the detail to art and beautiful environments but they seem to be stalling to make another 3D rayman and are happy to cram a spontaneous origins sequel in :?

Why? It's plenty simple to imagine/model the characters properly in 3D. There's nothing vomit-inducing about it.

If there is one character I'm interested in seeing in 3D, it would be Mr. Dark, but then again, I'd like to see him again properly in any form at this moment.
