Here is a comparison of the
Wii resolution (480p) and the
360/PS3 resolution (1080p), adjusted to the same screen size.
ah it doesn't even look that bad.. i expected way worse!

He took a PS3/360-quality image and scaled it down to the resolution of the Wii, which makes for quite a blurry result. The Wii console itself does not have this luxury, and will display the game in a far more pixellated fashion. It will look worse than you expect.

Cairnie wrote:Hmm, 720p...that's probs not gonna be good enough either. Only other option I can think of is to use the Wii version on Dolphin as apparently games can be played on up to 1080p on that...it's gonna depend on whether Origins will be compatible for it straight away when it comes out.
720p looks quite good actually (and so does 480p in my opinion), but you won't get anything more than 480p from the Wii version: Dolphin will just resize the image and that will look exactly like the image I posted above.

Of course it doesn't look bad, and it shouldn't even look blurry on a small TV. I was just pointing out the huge difference with full HD.

So few drives will ever run optical discs because it's a completely different format to DVD-ROM etc so I'd probably have to resort to grabbing an ISO...

Speaking about console prices, how much it is costing a PS3 in France and UK? I ask the same thing about the 360's Kinect pack.

I doubt it, as recent TVs are likely to use advanced resampling techniques, resulting in blur more than blocks. The final result may, however, be a mix of the two. The moral of the story is that the bigger your TV, the crappier low-res will look like.

Upscale or no upscale there's no harm in trying, if they don't work too well then we'll have to look for alternatives and that's when a PC version would indeed be handy even though I wouldn't play it on that much.
My PS3 was on offer for £230 with LittleBigPlanet 2 bundled, normally it'd be about 280 or something, maybe less nowadays, depends on how much HDD space is there and mine is 320GB.

On the contrary, if we are to take screenshots from the Wii version, they should be unaltered and kept to their original size.

I think I bought mine 440€ but that was a long time ago.

In here a single PS3 of 160GBs costs between the 270€ and the 300€, while an Xbox 360 of 250GBs with Kinect and a game included costs around the 300€.

The point is that the game will look like the other games when it comes to resolution

When you site on your couch, a bit away from your TV, you won't notice huge differences. Trust me, I don't have any problems with the Wii graphics.

I also haven't problems with Wii's graphics, but I wonder how the game will look like. My living room television is big and widescreen.

Same here. Man, I wish I had my own TV so I wouldn't have someone disturbing me through most of the game. I missed out on almost the whole ending of Super Mario Galaxy 2!

Neither do I – that’s why I wear glasses when I’m required to sit far from a screen. I suggest you visit an optician.

It reminds me that soon or later I should do an optical exam. I recently found out that I have difficulties to read texts that are relatively far.
